Interresting...

Well, I had signed up for this forum about a day before it went down... glad it is back. All of the other forums I have found that had sufficient membership were very focused on body building and I am really going for a more general fitness thing.

Here is the deal. I have been losing weight for about 5 months now and have gone from 270 to just over 220 with body fat % going from 37% to 25%. Most of that time, I have been doing it strictly with diet. I just recently (last 2 weeks) started adding in some arobic exercising to the mix and my weight loss has pretty much stopped. The good thing is that my BF loss has kept right on going, so I know I am doing something right.

I took a look at my diet and realized that I was probably a bit low on protine, so I added a protine shake after my workouts as a way to get a bit more, but still not add too many calories. My ultimate goal is 180 to 200 pounds with 10 to 15% BF and good cardio and respratory endurance. I plan on adding weight training in another week or 2 after the aerobic part of my workout routine is more established (taking it slowly - has worked a lot better for me than just jumping into it).

So here is my question: Any recomendations on things to get the weights started? Beginning workouts or philosophies? Diet or Cardio changes? I really can't work out more than 5 times a week, but 3 would probalby be ideal. Right now all 3 are cardio (running). Once I have gotten the basics down, I will probably be back to fine tune it, but I gotta get started first.

Thanks for the info! That is kinda what I had in mind for the first couple of weeks (starts tomorrow as a matter of fact - the aerobic stuff has been great so far). I am not new to working out, it has just been a few years so don't be afraid to get a bit technical. I will holler if you lose me. :D

Yeah, Gilad is kind of like a robot man. His accent makes me chuckle.

Today, I went on a picnic with my boyfriend, and we were going to hike, but it was extremely humid. But, we did have some riveting tennis action for a spell. I also ran for 1 hr 20min today, did an hour of Gilad, and 1/2 hour HIIT on the exercise bike.

I made these chicken parm sandwiches for lunch with some grilled marinated chicken cutlets, a mysterious jar of pizza sauce that's been in my cupboard for an obscene amount of time, and half of a piece of string cheese. Granted, the bun probably wasn't so healthy, but I always trin down the bun for the proper bread to sandwich filling ratio, which cuts down on the cals, too. However, they turned out better than I thought.

So, my complete menu for the day consisted of : 6oz fruit on the bottom yogurt, 8oz nonfat yogurt, 1.5 oz mozzarella cheese, 1c honeydew/blueberries/strawberries, serving pretzels, 1.5 breadsticks, 2.5oz grilled marinated chicken breast on a bun, spoonful ice cream.

I would have eaten the rest of the honeydew tomorrow, but it was like japanese beetle mating season at the park, and a couple got into the remains. My god, the swarms of them made me feel like it was the attack of the locusts:eek: , I wish I had a pic of it!
