Intermittent diet plan

Has anyone tried intermittent dieting?

I just researched a few types of these diets and the main idea is to cut calories intermittenttly, not every day.

it's claimed that it should work analogically to process of building muscle and, this program, , advices to combine a short-term (24-hour) period of not eating with a longer (6 days) period of eating.

Does it work? or it is just a scam.

I've done intermittent fasting, but not the protocol you've described above. The protocol I went with is simply postpone breakfast until lunch time, and then have good food until I go to bed. It did the job, and was less unpleasant than other methods I've used, but I suspect there's still better ways to go about fat loss. The basic principle that all weight loss methods must stick to in order to be effective is inserting fewer calories into the body than the body actually uses in a 24hr period. If that simple criteria is met, you will lose weight. If it isn't, you will not. So if you go on a fast once a week, or even daily (as I did), but over the course of the week you still consume more calories than you burn, you'll gain weight. If you eat 3 meals a day and burn as many calories as you consume, then you'll maintain weight. If you eat 10 meals a day but still manage to burn more calories than you consume, you'll lose weight. How often you eat, and what you eat, may influence health and body composition, but that's still secondary to the need to create a calorie deficit in order to lose weight.
