Increase Metabolism?

OK, so a year ago I realized I was kind of chubby, and I decided to lose weight. I didn't have much time for the gym so I thought I would just lose it by dieting alone. I now realize what a mistake that was and I am left with practically no muscle. I am very thin, but, because I lost so much muscle rather than fat, I still have a decent amount of fat on my stomach and chest.

So, I am now trying to put on muscle to increase my metabolism and finally get rid of this fat that my body refuses to get rid of.

My question is, since I'm trying to put on weight, should I just eat everything I can get my hands on, or just focus on lean proteins? I'm also working out a lot, so at what point is my metabolism and muscle mass restored enought to do a cut?

By the way, I am 6'2 and about 150 pounds.

Can't have that much fat left on you if your 150 at 6'2. Anyway, I started lifting about a year ago and since than my metaboslim has skyrocketed. I am trying to put on weight and have to force myself to eat beyond capacity to put on the weight I want. I don't have much of a diet really I just never eat junk food and try to get in as much protein as I can. I'm sure someone will make a huge post after mine with details on certain kinds of foods you should be eating to put on the weight you want. As for when to do a cut, really have no clue.
