Hello I am not sure what to do... After watching television you might think there may have been something that made any sense at all. Not here at 410lbs That first step I mean literaly the very thought of it frankly sends me straight to the refrigerator and here the justification " well since I have to be in pain I may as well have this last hurahh" but then....... The first step never comes and you find ( as I have) one more month to the neg!! I actually can't stand or walk foe more than two three minutes tops before I experience serious pain. I had an ablation ( heart parch) don't get me wrong If anything that has not "scared me straight" I don't have money (today) to go to the gym...my insurance will cover PT so im starting there either this week or next...Oh yeah I am getting a mobility scooter lets see what my thinking is after that..I had hoped it would motivate me to get to the gym and PT. I like this gym in NYC if I could just get to it..............................:toetap05:

Deciding to do something is often the hardest part. Congratulations. PT is a great idea. I had success with making small changes like replacing one can of pop with water and eventually working my way to drinking pop only on special occasions. Keep us posted!

Baby steps. Congratulations on taking the first step and deciding to make the changes you have been thinking about. Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will find lots of support and motivation here.

I think PT will be a great first step. It will likely be a slow process initially but it will ensure you make progress and don't injure yourself. You can do this!

When I started out I couldnt walk far - (I'm 5ft3 so was cuddly at nearly 300 pounds)...
My husband's max weight was 409 pounds - so I do have a good idea of where you are coming from.

I went out for a walk just the same and took lots of breaks - sitting on garden walls in the neighbourhood...
A few years later my husband started his weight loss in the same way...

In our experience - many people quickly find that they can soon walk further than they would have ever imagined... I was thrilled when I could walk as far as a local shop and back... delighted when I could get as far as more shops... there was a real sense of achievement in being able to get to places that had seemed well out of reach...

I encourage you to try walking - and accept your limitations... your need for lots of regular breaks... the fact that slowly is the only way that you could walk...
Walking is a free form of exercise and something that needs no equipment... something that we can start today...
