Ok, long story short 6ft tall male, 21. I went from 251lbs (not much muscle if any significant) down to 168lbs (diet and excersize for those curious, no stupid crap). Now as many people are writing all over the internet, I get loose skin on my stomach. I know that if I bulk and get up to 220 of pure muscle that would go away, however I have no desire to be huge, I just want to be lean and healthy but have enough muscle to look good with my shirt off. After reading a million posts and articles, I realize that a good amount of whats on me is still fat. In a perfect world I could just lift weights, do cardio, eat right and my body would eventually tighten up and look great, however. Me keeping on a low calorie diet is hindering muscle building (ive gained around 3lbs in 3 months but looking at pictures it looks like nothing, im up to 170 now but I dont notice any difference.) and high calorie hinders my fat burning. I dunno what to do, my forearms are as thin as my girlfriends but I still have fat on my thighs and mainly stomach. If i get rid of this fat (im thinkin 10-12%) it has no choice but to tighten, but I dont know what to do or how to eat now. Weight loss is easy, its toning thats hard.
My typical diet includes:
Breakfast: Bowl of whole grain cereal, some type of learn protein 2-3oz of chicken or turkey.
Lunch: Turkey with spinach and onion on 100% whole grain bread with a little stadium mustard (love the stuff) and a salad with light dressing and some sort of fruit.
Snack:Somewehre in here is ususally some celery with hummus. Maybe a spoonful of organinc peanut butter, but I dunno if I should be doing that.
Dinner: Heres the prob, right now Im home for the summer (internship) at school I can control what and when I eat but at home if there is a homemade dinner for me Im gonna eat it. My family is at least moderately health conscious now and it typically includes roasted chicken (i leave off the skin) or barbeque since its the summer. Corn and other veggies. Baked potatoes (i put salsa on it, any diet that says I cant eat salsa is out the window)
Snack: Preworkout I usually have a protein shake 25gprotein, 180calories, 4carbs.
Workout 3x a week for 45 minutes I weight train, mostly arms, 2 or 3 leg excersizes. I usually hit the eliptical for 15 minutes or so directly after.
4 days a week I run right when I wake up (I dont care about contravorsy it makes me feel better the rest of the day and since the internship is sedentary at least im getting something in) for about 25 minutes.
I dunno. I want to put on 10lbs of muscle and lose 15lbs of fat. Id guess im probly 20% fat right now but I have no idea. The thing with skin calipur tests is their not accurate with loose skin. One scale says im 21% body fat while another says 12 so I dont trust those. Once school starts (Sept 20) I can control my diet 100% again but my excersize schedule isnt 100% do to irregular work load (Im an engineer, gimme a break) but its decent. Should I tighten up my diet, eat more, less, I dunno. I jsut want to see results either way, I dont wanna be scrawny, but I want to look good and it to show that I workout.
