Hi everyone,
I am a 49 year old mom of two young adults. I am a non traditional student studying computer science but recently had to take medical leave from school. I use to weigh 430 lbs a couple of years ago. Now I weigh 360 lb and have a long ways to go before I hit my goal of 130 lbs. I have had some severe health problems this past 6 months and have had to really do my best to my weight and health seriously. My nurse told me about this website and I decided to check it out. :seeya:

Welcome to the forum.

We have lots in common. I am only 4 years older than you and studied computing too...

Well done for losing 70 pounds... You really have got into the swing of losing weight and you are doing brilliantly. Stick with it and you will get to goal...

I know that the forum helped me stick with my long term project long enough to get to goal... (Lets just forget about the fact that I have gained weight in the last two years... I am only human)... Hopefully the forum can help you stick with things and keep going...

I must admit that I found challenges helpful when I was on my big project... The main reason that I came back at new year was that I knew that I needed a forum challenge to help me get back down to goal... San has a new challenge kicking off this weekend and you would be more than welcome to join in. The link is in my signature - so check it out.

I am sorry to hear about your health issues... I hope that they can soon be fixed - or progress to a more manageable phase. Our health really is vitally important - but with your 70 pound loss you know that the surplus weight is something that we really can do something about. Focussed hard work can and will make our weight loss dreams come true.
