Images in Diary Section

How come you can't insert images directly into the diary section, like you can in other forums. The attachment thing is a real hassle.
 
It's just the way it's set up - although, I always go through the attachment process, no matter where I'm posting ;)
 
Is there a way to get someone to set it up differently? It seems like it would be a good thing to allow images in that section.
