Hi All...

Just a little bit about me...I am a 26yo from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio (about 30 min south of Cleveland). I currently work for Allstate Insurance Company as an underwriter/trainer.

Ok on to the weight issue...

I have always been a "big" kid and I have started diets and fallen off miserably. Recently one of my bestfriends decided to setup a weight loss challenge at work and once again decided I would attempt the weight loss.

The weight loss challenge began on Nov 6th and I weighed in at a very disappointing 301.8 lbs, needless to say I fell into depression because I never thought I would hit the 300lb mark. I decided depression and feeling sorry for myself was not that way to go so I sucked it up and have decided it is time for CHANGE.

Our most recent weigh-in was on Dec.4th and I came in at 283lbs...down 18.8lbs in a litter under a month. Needless to say I am very proud of myself and need to keep the motivation.

I decided to join this forum in the attempt to make some great friends who are going through the same thing I am...

I wish everyone the best and would love to hear from you :)

Rob

Heya's Rob from Ohio,
I am Tammy from Kentucky and you came to the
right place! Congrats on losing 18 + lbs so far great job! What kind
of plan are you doing and what do you do for exersice?
The 1st thing I would reccomend is staring a diary and update it
daily with foods calories exersice ect, this will hepl keep track of what
your doing right and wrong! Good luck and have a gr8 night,Tammy:)

Thanks for the well wishes Tammy!

Currently I am following the Weight Watchers plan, it seems to work best for me as I can eat the items that I enjoy and still lose weight. Excercise-wise..I walk 1 mile during my lunch break at work and walk/run a mile after dinner Monday-Friday. I weight train on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Thank you for the diary idea, I think that is a really great idea that I will have to try out.

How are things going for you?

Hope to hear from you soon!

ROB :)

Just wanted to give you guys an update...

As of this morning I am down an additional 3 pounds which brings me in at the 280 mark, down from my beginning weight of 301.8

I really thought I was going to gain this week. We had our holiday party at work on Friday which caused to eat things that I hadn't touched in about a month. I used portion control and tried to calculate as many WW points in my head as I could but by the end of the night was way too much.

21.8 down, 30 more pounds to go for Phase 1 weight loss :)

HAVE A GOOD MONDAY EVERYONE!!!!

Great Job

I know what it is like to be a big kid. I was too. I have never been average. but if you read my first post you'll noticed I have lost quite a bit. I ballooned up after taking some meds and got diabetes type II from them. When I weighed in at over 500 pounds I cried for days then just started exercising. I talked to my doctors and they took me off the the meds whcih they were going to to do soon anyway with the rumor of the diabete side affects and then I just started losing like crazy. I have hit a platue and looking for support.

I just wanted to say great job on losing 18 lbs. Keep up the good work!!!!! Your a better person than me because I could never keep my points strait on Weight Wathers. I really hated having to count them.

It's time for my weekly update....

Well as of last Monday I weighed in at 280 exactly. After a HORRIBLE weekend, I weighed in today at 279.2. When I first saw I only dropped .80 I was kind of upset but then I thought back to my weekend and what I ate.

Saturday was my cousin's wedding and I was determined to stay away from bad foods. The dinner consisted on Backed Chicken, Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Salad, Rolls and of course, wedding cake. I ate 1 piece of chicken, mashed potatoes and a mound of green beans (zero points on weight watchers :) I did not eat any wedding cake which I was very impressed by. By about 10pm I was ready for bed but could not leave that early so I decided to have a Rum and Diet Coke. Well apparently when you do not have alcohol is almost 2 months, one drink will now get you slightly buzzed so of course I had another and another and by midnight I was full fledged drunk. We left and went back to the hotel in which I proceeded to order a large pizza and eat about 3 slices. I woke up in the morning with a hangover and decided to go to Bob Evans with my family and ordered a "not so healthy" breakfast and the day concluded with me eating pizza again for dinner.

I woke up this morning so angry and disappointed with myself, however I decided sitting and beating myself up over it was not the way to go. So I got dressed and went on a morning jog and decided that it all starts over again today and I cannot change what I did this weekend, I can only learn from it.

With that being said...I am down .80lbs to a weight of 279.2. When I started the weight loss I was at 301.8, so I am please with the 22.60lbs weight loss so far!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!!!!

Rob, just think about it, you gorged on all sorts of fat foods and your still loosing some weight. Good Job, that means your metabolism is going up. Pat yourself on the back. I came to the same conclusion when i went to Red lobster with my gf, and weighed less the next day anyways. Weight training is the key, more muscle, more calories burned, and your occasional cheat sessions don't have such a huge impact. Your doing good, keep it up.

Hello Rob from Ohio. :D I know I'm a bit late but welcome to the forum.

I'm a bit late on this too, but I'm a Newb, so that's my excuse

Hi "Rob in Ohio", I'm "Rob in Michigan". We're supposed to be mortal enemies on the football field, but I've got your back on the weight loss thing. Great work so far, and keep it up.

Hi All!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas weekend! It was nice to get together with family and some friends I hadn't seen in awhile!

I did my weekly weigh in today and came in at 278.40. My total weight loss so far is 23.40. Next week is the final weigh in for our weight loss challenge at work. Currently I am in first place so the winnings are almost in the palm of my hand :)

But its funny how things work...I basically entered the challenge at first thinking I can lose weight for 8 weeks and earn some money, now I don't even care about the money. I feel so much better about myself...it is such as awesome feeling!

I'll keep ya'll posted!!!!

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday! Hope to hear from you all soon :)
