I'm New!

Hey, I just joined this forum last night. I have been thinking about joining a gym for a while now. I actually just got back from a nearby gym and I have successfully joined, since they were having a paid-in-full yearlong membership with no contract for 200 bucks. On my way home from there I stopped by Whole Foods to pick up some groceries that will keep me on track or at least point me in the right direction of healthiness. (oatmeal, orange and apple juices, salad, fruit etc)

I think the few main things that may give me problems are:

-I drink beer. I am going to try to cut back. I don't like liquor so I suppose I will just have to have a last "hurrah" and let that be that.

-I tend to eat ****ty junk food a lot. This organic healthy stuff is really expensive. I just spent 70 dollars on like simple stuff like fruit and vegetables.

-I only eat one meal a day. I know that is seriously a horrible approach to eating, but its just something I've been doing for a while. I have never been a breakfast eater because I seem to get an upset stomach just by being awake in the morning let alone eating.

last but not least I am a cigarette smoker. I have been smoking for like 4 years. The hardest part for quitting for me is that I just simply enjoy the taste. You wont hear that too often--having people enjoy the taste of cigarettes, but I think I am ready to quit, I have quit before, but not for longer than a month or so. I just need to keep motivated and do this thang.

The reason I want to be healthy and get fit is basically I feel pretty self conscious, always have. I have a beer gut, and it needs to go. I'm 22, I live at home with my parents, and I just want to feel good about myself. Hopefully if all goes right, there will be some serious changes to my body that I will be proud of and that you will see too!

James
