Well, I thought I'd post some information about myself here.
I've always had terrible eating and exercise habits. I'm one of those skinny fat people with skinny arms and legs and a gut. Fortunately, I've never gained weight until now. However, I am in terrible shape and weak. In high school if I worked out to get in shape or ate a salad, people would act like I had a disorder. So I watched tv and ate snickers and chips.
In the past several years I have made numerous attempts at getting in shape. Which meant I worked out a day or two and then took 2 weeks to 6 months off. In the last year I've improved my eating habits a lot. I'm still working on it, but i eat fish, proteins, and veggies. The bad part is I still eat chips, candy bars, and beer, eating those three things and not being active has kept me gaining 1 to 2 pounds a month. I've done pretty good the last 2 weeks on those though.
My fiance is a great motivator. He is a workout nut and would like to see me play tennis without stopped to rest every 5 to 10 minutes. I'm getting married in 6 months, so looking good on my honeymoon is a big motivator too. I've been spending my breaks and lunches walking at work. I plan on gradually adding in 3 days of cardio, 3 days of strength training, and on day 7 do some light yoga to stretch out. I know working out 7 days a week seems like a lot to some people. But i sit on my butt at work 9 hours a day most days and then play video games all night. Two years ago, I started experiencing back and knee problems from sitting too long. So, I need to work out on a regular basis, most people get some sort of physical activity in each day. I do plan on talking to a doctor soon about this.
None weight related facts:
I have 0 kids, 1 dog, 2 chinchillas, 1 gecko, 2 cats. One of my cats thinks she is a dog and she chases the other cat around and sleeps with the dog. The chinchillas know kung foo and they will attack you. Seriously, they are scary.
We just bought a house last month and I've been spending a lot of time painting and unpacking. Almost done with that. Also, I have just started planning the wedding, so that takes up a lot of time too.
Looking forward to talking with you all some more, but I am starting to fall asleep while typing.
Sorry it's so long.
