Hello Everyone!!!!

I'm so glad I found this online community to help with weight loss :) I think keeping a record and mingling with people on the same mission is half the battle to loosing weight. I have done it before through weight watchers, I lost 2 stone which was really great, I felt so much better in myself. Unfortunately financially, I couldn't afford to keep going and my healthy regime flew out the window!!!! I put every pound and more back on!!! So Here I am, take 2!!!!!

So, I weighed myself yesterday and today I seem to have put on 7Llbs- Fantastic !! Off to a great start!!! I'm not going to be put off- I'll just make sure to weigh myself at the same time (Which I didn't, very silly of me, plus I just ate, what was I thinking!!!)

I'm a 22 year old student from Ireland, living in Carlow. I'm doing a computer course at the moment and my whole day is spent in front of a screen! By the time i come home it's dark and i don't feel like going out for a walk. Plus it's usually really cold. I find it really difficult to loose weight in the Winter. I never want to go outside and always want hot food.

WEll, THATS ME!!! Best of luck to everyone on a fat busting mission!!! WE CAN DO IT!!!

the 7lb addition might just be a normal scale fluctuation... or you didn't weigh at the same time on the same days -it'd be pretty impossible to gain 7bls of fat overnight...

DO NOT focus so much on the number on the scale -instead focus on measurements - and how you're feeling and what you're seeing in the mirror

Serafina, don't get discouraged. I think I can probably speak for most of us here that it is common to gain some weight from time to time while you're trying to lose. I know I certainly have. The key to remember is to keep on keeping on. In other words, NEVER GIVE UP! If you never give up, there is no way that you can fail. Just keep striving to be a healthier you and you'll make it.

I just posted in another thread about something that I read yesterday and I think it really applies to these forums. I found it to be very inspiring and hope you will too. It reads as follows:

"We have a lot to learn from geese:

By flying in "V " formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own.

(People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.)

Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front.

(If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those who are heading in the same as we are.)

When the lead goose gets tired, he rotates back in the wing and another goose flies point.

(It pays to take turns doing hard jobs, with people or with flying geese.)

These geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.

(We need to be careful what we say when we honk from behind.)

Finally, when a goose gets sick, or is wounded by gunshot, and falls out, two geese fall out of formation and follow him down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly or until he is dead, and then they launch out on their own or with another formation until they catch up with their group.

(If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other, protect one another and sometimes make new friends who seem to be going in our direction.)"

Stay focused....you can do it. And, if you find yourself struggling a bit, remember your friends at the forum!
