I'm just so un-motivated :(

Uggg.

I really NEED to loose weight, but I don't know what it is, I'm just not motivated. I'll be very motivated one day, and the next I'll splurge and then forget about the diet I'm supposed to be on.

Anyone have any advice? :(

Have you tried starting a journal? Not neccesarily here, but anywhere? Write down everything you eat, all the exercise you do and how you're feeling as well. It will keep diet and exercise in the forefront of you mind.

excellent advice, black... something else i'd suggest is to stop thinking of it as a diet and consider i a lifestyle change.. Find one you can live with.. A diet of deprivation does not work... You should be able to have your favorite things in moderation... it should be something you can stick with...

I have the same problem which is what makes my diets always fail! And then start up again a couple of months later. Seeing as trying it all in one go doesn't work I do little steps at a time. It's been 3 weeks since I started this diet, in that time I haven't touched a packet of crisps, haven't eaten after 8 and always have breakfast! Plus exercise is every weekday (weekends I go off the rails slightly). I sometimes catch the train to school, which means I end up having to walk 20-25 minutes in the morning. These are little things but they now fit in easily without being too much hassle as it would be if I introduced it all at once.

Also a journal is a good idea, that is what I do for food as well as exercise! I end up not stuffing myself becuase I think, wait I want to look at my journal at the end of today and be proud of it! Not think, ugh you fat greedy cow.

I also have pictures of celebs with flat stomachs on my mirror so every day I see that and think, right today will be a good day! You could try sticking pictures of you that you hate or think you look fat in on your cupboards to stop you from snacking.

Often it helps if you have a goal, but FOR A REASON! Why do you need to lose weight? Saying "I need to" isn't good enough. It's extremely hard to get motivated over a goal that you just made up out of thin air... assuming you even have a goal. Sit down and figure out why you're trying to lose, figure out what realistic weight would you consider success and allow you to defeat the issue in question, then every day realize that to attain this goal and to accomplish what you want, you have to sacrifice. Too many people try to sacrifice, but without knowing exactly why you are doing this, you subconsciously start to avoid making these sacrifices in an attempt to stay in your comfort zone.
