Hello, my name is Rachael.

I decided to join a weight-loss forum this evening after watching the season finale of The Biggest Loser. I have always been over-weight and I constantly struggle to lose weight. The Biggest Loser has been my source of inspiration to lose weight and change my life.

I tipped the scales at 287.5 when I was a teenager. And from that point on I vowed I would NEVER weigh that much again. No longer a teenager, I am still struggling to lose the weight.

I had lost 30 pounds in December 2005, but during the summer I begun to feel depressed and unmotivated and I gained that 30 pounds back ... I still weigh in at 287 pounds now.

I've come to this forum for motivation and help. When I embark on a diet, I fly solo. My family and I have very poor eating habits. Often when I am on a diet my family encourages me to cheat and join them in eating fast-food and chocolate bars. It is extremely hard for me to stay on a diet for a long period of time.

I have never been happy with the way I looked and felt. I need to lose weight so that I have boundless amounts of energy and am gleaming with happiness because of my weight-loss achievement and my new appearance.

You are absolutely right Star. I'm focusing too much on the negative and not enough on the positive.

I'm interested in knowing how one goes about joining a club on this forum. Do you just pop into one thread and become a self-proclaimed member?

glad to see you are going to start being more positive........what did you do today that was positive???? I want to hear!!!!!;)
 
I am in the waiting line with you. I joined too late to join a club, but I have started a journal and that has really laid the foundation for my goals.

If you start one, other people can read what & how you are doing. It's very encouraging.

Yesterday I went for a walk and exercised. I have a lot more will-power now. I saw a chocolate bar on the kitchen table yesterday ... Normally if I had seen a chocolate bar on the kitchen table I'd have to tear myself out of the kitchen kicking and screaming ... but instead I picked up the chocolate bar and put it back in the cupboard. I didn't even have to fight with myself to try not to eat it.

People are beginning to notice how much weight I've lost. I can already see a change in my appearance too. I'm feeling great! I'm happy and I am bouncing off the walls with energy. From time to time I feel like cheating ... but I know if I do I will be so upset and mad with myself.

ya to get to the goal weight you set along with alot of support

I know how you feel. Its usually just me and my boyfriend.. and he doesnt have good eating habits. He always wants me to eat icecream and pizza with him. I've never been on a diet for too long... but this time i've been on it for 10 days. i'm really determined now. we'll all help you get to where you want to be. i'm thankful i joined, and i know you will be too. welcome.

start a weight loss diary. it helps. just keep track of calories, and drink plenty of water. Remember to take baby steps. Thats my advice.
