I'm having a big tempation, what do I do???

My family is going to dairy queen really soon and they offered to get me a blizzard. But I've only been on my diet 3 days and I'm trying to loose 5 lbs so I can get into that swim suit! Please help me, what can I do to overcome this temptation???
 
get a small one...

no diet will ever be successful if you deprive yourself of things you enjoy...

have a small one -not a giant size one and make the calories workin your day
 
I didn't get a chance to check back before we left, and I didn't have one. I feel good and bad about it. I really did want one. But I feel a sence of acomplishment in myself for not giving in. I don't know though, maybe I will let myself have one as a "goal" treat after I loose maybe about 2 lbs. What do you think?
 
Like she said, as long as you adjust your caloric intake for the day accordingy, why not! I'm about a week in and i've wanted ice cream the whole time so i bought some skinny cow ice cream sandhwiches today. 140 calories! Just be aware there are low-cal alternatives. Even frozen yogurt would be a lot better.
 
Food as goal treats sets a bad precedent..

If you lose 2lbs -and at your current weight that's significant - yu have a food treat - and you migh just see a difference in the scale again - doesnt mean you gained fat -just that tehre was a scale difference - a lot of people can't deal witht hat well.

Better goal rewards are bottles of nail polish, a manicure, a magazine, a treat for your body/mind/spirit - something you'd really enjoy -but not food...

food should be a part of your day -not a reward...
