i'm cunfused

ok i started working out because i'm fat i have a gut and that relly bring's me down because all my friends are skinny so this where i get cunfused to lose weight you have to burn more calories then you take in but i hear that to gain muscel you have to take in more calories then you burn so like what should i do i want to lose the gut but i also want to get bigger.i'm robert i'm 13 years old i'm 5 foot and i'm 125 lbs please help thanks
 
First off, you're only 13. Beleive it or not, but you still have baby fat on you. you will definately lose that in time. As far a calories go, you really should look at where your calories are coming from. You want to take in more protein and carb calories than fat calories. Don't cut the fat completely, because you still need it, just keep it low. At your age, if you eat a healthy diet, and stay active, there's no reason why you shouldn't lose some extra weight. Also, 5' 125lbs doesn't sound very fat to me. I would say it's best to stay active and eat healthy. Don't do any kind of heavy lifting as you don't need an injury that will affect you the rest of your life. And if you do lift weights, don't try to be superman, keep the weight manageable and focus on slow controlled movements, full range of motion, and form. Also, don't forget to stretch.
