I'm beginning to think the scale is lying...

According to my scale, I have lost 20 pounds. I feel like I've lost, I don't know, maybe five. It just...doesn't look like that much. Should I be visibly shrinking? I ate sooo much crap this week...how could I have possibly lost three pounds? I don't know what's going on...

have you been exercising? or drinking lots of water? a few days of eating crap, while not ideal, generally won't undo the good work you've done... just get back to healthy lifestyling. While you may have been eating crap, you still might have come in under calories.

I went thru that a lot at the beginning of my journey - the scale would move when I wasn't sure it should have because I didn't think I was doing enough. the scale would move and I still wouldn't see anything in the mirror (i still really don't)

I feel that way right now too...I saw a difference in the first 30 pounds, but now the scale drops and I see nothing. My pants fit the same as they did at Christmas time. It's frustrating, but I know the scale is right because the one at my TOPS meeting every week gives me the same numbers as the one at home.

I just have to have faith that it will happen.

It's totally possible you're losing weight in areas you aren't even noticing. My "big" thing from the start was my belly, I hated looking 7 months preg., and just kept looking and looking, waiting, expecting it to finally get flat...and I was losing weight steadily every week but still felt fat cause I kept looking the mirror and seeing - the belly. And then one day, about 25 lbs down, a (female) co-worker was walking behind me and said something like "I just noticed you don't have a big butt anymore!"...if you're losing steadily, it's coming off from somewhere - just probably not in the places you're looking for or expecting right now...but in the end it all balances out
