Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and I want to see if anyone has the same problem as me.

Ok I currently weigh 210Ibs, I walk on a treadmill for 40-45 mins a day and it states I burn over 400 calories, plus I come home and do my turbo jam dvd which is about a 49 min workout, really makes me sweat like the treadmill. I eat 4-5 small meals a day and snack on yoghurt with fruit eat lean cuisine drink lots of milk and water and I eat like a diabetic oatmeal, I eat alot of lean meats such as chicken breast, tuna, salmon, prawns, shrimp, extra lean ground beef, and veggies galore. Cant lose weight!!! :ack2: :chillpill: but once I decide to have a bag of chips or something after all that I lose like 5 pounds, its bizarre. I'm in more shape than my skinny friends and can work out way longer than them lol, I have alot of belly fat but have really strong abs from working out and can do things such as belly dance better too. So anyone with the same problem???? with all this it seems like I'm meant to be fat or something.

Hi, welcome to the forum!

Question... are you keeping track of your daily caloric intake, how much of what type of food you eat each day, etc. with those 4-5 small meals you eat each day? What you may want to consider doing is creating an account at a place like fitday.com which will help you to do that. There's a lot of info in the stickied posts here in different sections (like the nutrition section) that will have a lot of helpful info. What you want to do is create a calorie deficit so you are taking in fewer calories than you are burning throughout the day, but you don't want to go 'too' low. Actually, the stickied posts in all of the different sections are well worth reading through. They're a great source of answers to commonly asked questions.

On a matter of my personal opinion... I'd recommend not eating the Lean Cuisine or any other of that frozen garbage. You would be better off sticking with the lean meats, fresh veggies & fruit, whole grains, etc. and things you can control what goes in to your food that you are putting in to your body. Frozen garbage has tons of sodium, preservatives, excess sugar (or worse... high fructose corn syrup), chemicals... all things that can sabotage your weight loss efforts.

Belly dance is a lot of fun! I took classes & did a lot of the exercise DVDs long before I got serious about losing weight... so I know exactly what you are talking about with the strong abs under the excess padding. Funny, I just did the Rachel Brice isolations dvd this morning. Enjoyed every minute of it!

It sounds like you're on the right track. You're eating well and exercising. Keep it up and I'm sure you'll see results. Keeping an accurate count of your caloric intake versus your caloric use is a great way to see if you're actually creating a negative.

welcome to the forum :)
i second everything pheonyx said. it is very important to know how much you're putting in and how much your spending your energy, not only calorie wise, but also considering which foods you eat. you are already making a great effort :) maybe only one or two things have to modified. i know the sticky threads helped me a lot. hope you'll find them useful too.
best to you
Lena
