Did anyone feel it this morning?
I was awake when it happened... But didn't feel a thing (I'm in St. Paul right now) ... The epicenter was somewhere in Southern Illinois near Indiana. When I first heard about this on the news my first thought was: "OMFG New Madrid!" If you don't know about New Madrid, It's a fault that puts the San Andreas to shame. It's a prehistoric fault that lies near Memphis on the Mississippi river. If it were to srike again like it did in 1811-1812, it would pretty much level Memphis, and do a ton of damage to my hometown (Nashville).
Fortunately, it was only a 5.4, I called my dad up and he said he heard a very low rumble and heard the windows shake. He said it was very unusual compared to your average nighttime 'bumps' (Hail, Jet, Wind, Thunder ETC) So he looked outside to see it was dry. He said our dogs jumped up and walked around in dazed confusion; and he turned on the news to see that a ton of people in TN had felt it and people were calling in.
Did anyone on here feel it? Hopefully it's not a premonition of things to come on the New Madrid fault!
