If I did it once, I can do it again!

I'm a soon-to-be 18 year old girl. When I was 14 I first became concerned about my weight. I talked about it with my mom and we went to the doctor. I couldn't stand dieting, so through a lot of exercise I managed to lose about 50 pounds and most of my self-esteem issues.

Last summer when I was 16 I reached my fitness peak - 5'4" feet tall and 120 pounds. I measured 35"-27"-35", and I loved the way I looked. I always wanted, as I guess everybody else, to have the "perfect proportions" but I know my bones and they don't go below 68cm/27inches without using some corset device, so that's ok for me.

Now, to my horror, I let myself go. I don't look the same in my clothes and I hate looking at the mirror. I used to be so pretty. My waistline is now 30 inches and I don't dare finding out how much I weigh.

But my looks aren't the worst part. I used to be so fit and strong. Now my arms are all flabby and I can't do a single push-up. Not even a single one. When I noticed this I decided it was the time to change for good.

At least I'm glad I noticed this relatively soon (it was a terrible year so even though deep down I knew I was letting myself go I couldn't do anything about it).

Now that the problems I had last year are gone, I would like to be fit once again, and this time with a method I can keep up for longer than a few years.

I am setting myself the goal of shrinking down to 34-26-34. Currently I am at 35-30-35. I will try to update almost everyday, since I am pretty lazy this will be a way to keep up.

I love, love dancing so it will be my primary lose-weight exercise, given that I can do it at home for as long as I want in any moment; and I enjoy it.

I will also do every day as many sets of push-ups (knee push-ups for now), sit-ups and squats as I can. I hope that next week I can move on to real push-ups.

SEPTEMBER 2

Current measurements: 35"-30"-35".

Goal measurements: 34"-26"-34".

Day's activities: Dancing for two hours.

Thank you! I'm going to excercise a lot more than I used to and lead a more active life. I'm watching my food but not counting calories, I prefer doing twice as much exercise and keep eating all the food I love :)

This morning I measured myself and got over yesterday's shock. Yesterday I had measured my waist mid-afternoon, so I didn't get that fat after all this year. Still a problem though.

STEPTEMBER 3 -

Current measurementes : 35" - 29" - 35"

Goal: 34" - 26" - 34"

Today's exercise: 2 hours walking, 1 hour of (unplanned and unwilling) walking barefoot in very hot sand. Today I've been doing activities, standing and moving all day, which is a change over the last months, and I feel good for that. Tomorrow I hope to do the same.

Today's eating: Ate better than I usually do This summer I've been eating out with my friends almost every night... all fast food, but today I didn't. In the future I'm not going to stop doing this, since I enjoy it so much, but I will order smaller portions. Also when the summer's over it's not going to be every night but just the weekends.

On a side note, today I felt great and very pretty after being active for a change. I hadn't noticed I missed it so much. Tomorrow I will also go walking and I will start with strength training, any good plans for a young girl that can't do a single push-up?

Three waist inches to go!
