Hi everyone! My username on here is SardonicCitrus, but I'm ok just being called Citrus
I'm a 20, nearly 21 year old female who got married a little over a year ago and do digital art and crafts in my free time (which I have a lot of).
My weight fluctuates between 175-185, usually about 180, depends on which scale I use. I'm guessing I'm leaning more towards being 185.
I am 5'2, and my weight is quite noticeable to me. Most of my fat is on my stomach and thighs, and dreaded back fat. I also have started developing a double chin, and I'm just not happy with my size.
It all started when I went to college, I lost a lot of weight due to sickness (the cause isn't known, but it was menstrual problems, and y'all don't need to know the details and I doubt you want them). I've always hovered around 150-160 lbs, and in college I dropped down to 135 from health issues and not being able to get up and eat. I was very weak, and I ended up having to drop college due to my medical issues in February 2018. When I got back home, and finally got to just sleep and heal from what was going on, I started eating a lot more and within a couple months had gotten back up to 160... and then a couple months, in November 2018 I believe I weighed myself and was at 170, which was more than I'd ever weighed before and really freaked me out.
By the time I got married in February 2019, I was at 195, and I was just miserable. Partially because of my height, partially because of my body shape, and partially because I'd never weighed that much before, I was incredibly depressed and started walking daily and doing yoga. It helped some, slowed the weight gain, but I didn't actually LOSE weight until July 2019 when I quit drinking soda cold turkey. I have a soda maybe once a month, or once every other month now, but I rarely finish them because they taste bad to me now. I dropped back down to 170, which was a HUGE deal for me and I felt so confident and happy! I bought some crop tops, and some flashier pieces of clothing, and I was just feeling really good about myself!
However, the weight's started to come back, and I'm back to 180ish, and I'm a bit at a loss on what to do. I want to weigh 125 lbs, I feel that'll look good on me, and it's a healthy weight. I don't need to lose it all at once, but I hope to push myself to lose the extra weight within a year or two. Right now my goals are to lose at least a pound a week, maybe a pound and a half, and I'm going to start by going on more walks (I walk my dog twice a day, and take her out on short trips in between for her potty times), and get back into doing yoga. Once this coronavirus stuff calms down I want to go to the gym 3 times a week and try to burn about 300 calories each visit, which I started doing with my husband right before the gyms closed down (we'd been going for about two weeks, were on the 4th or 5th visit, then the next time we were going to go we got an email stating that they shut down which was very frustrating).
I'm also going to try to cut out calories, but I'm a bit at a loss on where to cut them out... I'm not a heavy eater to begin with, but I'm not a very HEALTHY eater either.
I'm wondering if maybe I need to just swap what I'm eating?
Anyways! I'll let y'all know how it goes, and update this as often as I remember to. It's nice to meet everyone.
