First things first, I'm Ruth and I'm 19 years old.
I'm also 15 stone :(
Well, I was 15 stone 5, then I lost like 10 pounds, so I'm actually 14stone 9 at the moment.
I have a history of dieting and losing weight then putting it back on.

At 15 I went to WW and lost a stone and a half, with Dr's permission obviously. I went on the pill and my loss halted, and then fluttered up a bit, so I did what any stroppy teenager would... I quit.
I put it on slowly at first, then I hit 14 stone and was like OMG!!!
So I joined a gym and lost 5 pounds, but I was ill at the same time and the doctors didn't know what was wrong, so they gave me all sorts of xrays and CT Scans and then decided to try steroids. Well, my chest pain was back so I had to quit the gym, so I lowered my calorie intake and still put on weight!!

It was an awful three months waiting to see what was up with me, but eventually they found out and I had an operation. The doctors told me I wasn't allowed to lose any weight before the operation, because I wasn't fat enough for my weight to be a problem with the GA, and they didn't want any immune system compromisation. I was in hospital a week and when I came out I'd droped 6 pounds down to 14stone 8, I was chuffed, but not suprised given what I'd been through.
Then it started piling back on again, and I couldn't exercise anymore so I got fatter and fatter until it finally halted at around 15stone 5.

I'm not happy as big as I am, so I decided to cut back, I ate healthier options on my break at work (I work in a Subway) and stopped drinking full fat sprite and started drinking diet coke, and dropped 5 pounds in two weeks!!

So I got serious and have been eating much much better and dropped another 5 in about 2 weeks again.
Then easter struck :( But I was really good with my normal eating so the easter eggs didn't hit me too hard! I think I put on less than a pound but I'm staying away from the scales for a few days to pull it back just in case it was more!

My inches are as follows...
Neck: 14.25 14.25

Waist: 38 38 37

Stomach: 45 43 43

Calf: 17 16.5

Red is about a week or so ago, black is last night. I can feel it in some places already, I can feel it round my boobs unfortunately :(
And with it not been a long time between them chances are some of the differences are human error, but I can hope :p

So far today I've eaten
Breakfast- none I didn't wake up until 1pm :O
Lunch - none so far (its 14:20) Going to make some porridge for my boyfriend soon so will have a bowl of that, no sugar (bleurgh) and semi skimmed milk, half milk half water.


I eat at odd times by the way.
I get up at lunch time and have breakfast, I have lunch around 3 then tea around 9ish, but I don't sleep til 2-3am ish.
So it works for me :p

Sorry its so long.. Ah well, congratulations if you got this far :p

The first two pics are me recently, on NYE and a pub crawl in Nov, the third is a really old one and very embarrassing!! But I want to be that slim again!

Heyy dude, welcome! I'm 20 and started off at around your weight. We also have the same messed up eating pattern! Yay for sleeping all day! ;) What's your goal? And how tall are you? Alsooo, theres a pretty cool questionaire type thing if you click on the first thread in this forum. Helpful if you want feedback and to out-line your goals.

Hey, I filled out the questionnaire but then my post was a bout 6 miles long so I cut it out :p
I'm only 5foot 5 ish, and my first goal is 12 stone. But I want to be under 13 stone by Download :)
Even 12stone 13 3/4 will do!
I'm not too bothered about what weight I get to in the end, I just want to feel good about my body, which is about 10-11 stone for me, although I now have boobs, so its probably closer to the 11 stone mark for me.

When I lost my weight before I got right down to 10 stone, and I still felt fat, but now when I look back on pictures, I really wasn't! So I don't want to push it too far because I will probably take it to extremes.

I'll prolly type up that questionnaire again actually. I wonder if I cut it rahter than deleted it...

Well me first goal is 12 stone, so I think if I was that now I'd be pretty happy.

Health reasons, and vanity! I want to look good in clothes, and wear a bikini in summer etc

I can't exercise.

I eat like a pig, and always really unhealthy stuff, like pizza or chinese takeaway.

Stop eating so much rubbish, and learn to like it that way!

9. Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight?
Lost 3 uk dress sizes a few years back with WW but I ballooned afterwards

10. Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?
I lost my motivation, I was happy in a relationship so wasn't bothered what other people thought I looked like, and I had deprived myself of tasty foods for so long I binged. Still happy in the realtionship I may add, but I've just gotten way too big.

12. Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time?
I have done before but got obsessed with calorie counting so I will write down what I eat but not focus on the calories.

13. Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook?
Not proper cooking. I like to but I can't afford ingredients! So I just shove chicken and ships or something in the oven usually.

14. How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go?
Not often at all anymore but I used to eat at Revolution almost every week.

15. What are your three favorite foods?
Pizza, pasta and anything carby and cheesy and stodgy!

16. What are your three favorite restaurants?
TGI Fridays, Frankie and Bennys and Nando's. However I can't afford them so I don't go!

17. What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?
~Eat less in general
~Don't copy my boyfriends portion sizes
~Eat til I get full, not til the plates empty!

18. If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different?
Perkier boobs, flatter stomach, firmer thighs, less wobbly arms.

I eat when I'm bored

Sometimes, but not so much anymore.

I used to.

Nope, but as soon as I start to eat I can't stop. I tend to hold off for ages.

Yes unfortunately

Sometimes

Chicken in breadcrumbs with something potatoey and some veg.
Veggie sausages with same.
Pasta and sauce/spag bol with cheese

Crisps, biscuits, bread, chocolate and sometimes fruit

Nothing but I have started walking more

At home

Swimming, dancing, Wii Fit when we have it :)

I want to look good naked/clothed/all the time and feel good about it too.
A bikini in summer etc.
I've been slim before so my main motivation is the old clothes in my cupboard!

Buy a bikini and a slinky dress when I hit my final goal :)
Not thought of anything for the smaller goals yet
 
We have a lot of the same obstacles and habits. And a few of the same downfalls. In my case though it's a husband who can eat like a pig and stay the same weight, while my eating shows almost immediately.

Also, I started my change by just trying to walk more. Once I did that for a month straight I started changing other things. I've failed on too many diets to try to push myself to far to fast this time.

When I finally felt that I had stayed with my new changes for long enough I joined the gym and talked to a personal trainer. When he asked me what I wanted to accomplish I told him "I want to look good naked" :) So I really like that you put it that way.

So todays food..

Breakfast - None as I was asleep.
Lunch - two muller light yoghurts and a cup of green tea
Tea - whole wheat pasta with light cream cheese and sweetcorn, with last nights leftover spicy mince.
Snacks - Small bowl of Ice cream with a little bit of sauce, 2 packets of crisps and 5 slices of bread and a cup of soup.

I'm also drinking a glass of wine but its the last of the wine and not a full one.

Eeek 5 slices of bread... Not good! But I'll be much better today I promise!
Up already and it's only half 9 in the morning! I have work all day so I will grab something for breakfast before I set off, probably a yoghurt and a glass of milk, then today at work I'll be on my feet all day, and I'm walking to the train station too.
I will have to skip lunch because I'm working through it, but I'll take my break about 3pm and have a six inch sub, although I might have it as a salad instead, or on wheat bread.
Then I'll be having my tea around half 8 tonight. No time for snacking while I'm at work though which is good.
Update tonight with an actual food diary.
 
Breakfast - Glass of semi skimmed milk, muller light yoghurt.
Lunch (well 4pm) - Six inch turkey sub on wheat bread, two slices of cheese and lettuce, tomato, cucumber, pepper and sweetcorn, no mayo :)
Tea - (at midnight oops!) - 6 small fish fingers, 3 smiley faces and third of a tin of mushy peas.
Snacks- 1 oatmeal and raisin cookie, 1 packet of crisps, 1.5 small glasses of cherry coke and a small slice of cheese.

Drank diet coke all day in work, turned down cherry coke!!! My absolute favourite but its full fat :(
Then when my boyfriend saw me typing this he got an urge for Cherry coke and we went to the shop and bought a bottle! Although normally I'd have shared it and had about a litre, but instead I only had a tiny bit :)
Walked up from the train station instead of getting a taxi. It's a 20 minute walk downhill to the train station, but I walked back uphill in about 10ish minutes, so thats really good, especially for me. I also took the stairs instead of a lift, and ran up them not walked :)
We were insanely busy in work today and after the rush I was really warm and sweaty so that must have done some good too lol.

So today I've only just woken up and its 3pm!
To be fair I didn't sleep until after sunrise so I'm just off to get some breakfast!
Breakfast - None was asleep
Lunch - None was asleep still!
Tea - Two slices of white toast, no butter, packet of mushrooms, two hard boiled eggs, small chunk of cheese and a very small slice of pizza.
Snacks - Packet of crisps and two pears.

Might skip out either lunch or tea, and have maybe porridge now then a tea or lunch at about 7/8pm then nothing else.
But I'll have to make sure I get anough calories in without going mentally unhealthy if I do that.
Although I don't calorie count really anyway. I check to make sure something isn't really bad but I don't add up exactly, I just kind of round up and estimate, although I always overestimate on purpose.

Think we might be going shopping after "breakfast" so can get in some healthier stuff because at the moment, there are two pieces of battered fish and sausages in the freezer!

Had no breakfast or lunch really, just a packet of crisps and off food shopping now.

BAD BAD start to the day :(
Might buy some scales today if there are some cheap ones, I can't weigh myself here and I haven't in what feels like ages!

I've had a crap day today to say the least.
Didn't get up until really late so first time I properly ate was 7pm. Will make sure I eat something else later to top it up.
Had lots to drink today though, two glasses of sugar free squash and the rest of my diet lemonade.
I normally don't drink much at all so its pretty good for me!
Bought in loads of mullerlight yoghurts. 12 for £2!!! Can't go wrong :) They're so handy for a quick breakfast before work or just as a snack. I normally don't eat breakfast so something small like that is good.

Couldn't buy any scales because appparently Morrisons don't sell them :/ I was sure they would but ah well. I'll just weigh myself Friday morning, which means it'll have been a week since I last weighed myself, I'm hoping I've lost again, but it is just after Easter so I probably put on, so if I look at it that way, if I've stayed the same then it's technically a loss! Well sort of :p
I'm one of those people who weigh themselves almost everyday. It's a bad habit but it's since my mum put the scales in the bathroom not her bedroom!

Really want to do my inches again but it's only been like 3 days so it's pointless.. I just checked, it's only been two days.
These days seem to have lasted forever! Been at my boyfriends though so it's a good thing. Going home on Thursday, but I'll have to weight to weigh myself because I weigh myself on a morning before I've eaten, not at any other time of the day. SO I know it's my weight not food or water weight.
Hope my mum has got some good stuff in, usually whenever I try to eat healthily we only have rubbish food in and fruit I don't like so it's harder at home than here.
 
I copied and pasted it from someone elses, it is on here somewhere though but I'm not sure where. It's on quite a few peoples diaries.
 
Can I suggest- I know that you usually sleep through brekki but that's ok- that with your first meal, make it a bit more substantial? If I was only having yogurt in the morning I'd be starving all day :smilielol5:

Try eggs on toast, or beans, or anything that's high in protein with carbs... it'll set you up for the rest of the day, and you're less likely to get into the junk food later on and you'll probably have less cravings :)

I can eat a proper breakfast if I get up around 1ish, but when I wake up early for work, not a chance lol. I'm not good with eating breakfasts, even since I was a child.
When I have it in, I usually have a yoghurt instead of milk over cheerios, its really yummy :) and they're whole wheat so pretty good for you. Its sweeter because of the yoghurt so you don't need sugar either.

Woke up about half an hour ago. Not good, was going to get up early and run up to the top floor for some pre breakfast exercise. But now it's going to be pre lunch! My boyfriend said he'd do it with me so I'm going to wake him up in 10 minutes, think I'll have to time myself how long it takes and try and better it, maybe do it every day if it's not too hard on my already trashed ankles.
I apparently have no ligaments left in my ankles. My physio bent my foot sideways and squealed like a little girl lol, he said "Your foot really shouldn't bend that far!" He had a poke around and was like.. "Ermm, yeah, you have almost no ligaments in your ankles..."

So I don't run much because I fall over really easily because when my foot twists I can't right it before it goes all the way.
I still do some of the exercises he recommended for it though so it's a little bit better.

Really want to join a gym but I'm into my overdraft already and its a week til pay day! Not good!
Plus I'm starting a 40 hour a week job in less than two weeks so I won't have time. I'm hoping that I'll be gettting tonnes more exercise while working there, it's double the hours I'm at Subway amd it'll be busier and with more stretching and lifting I assume so hopefully the weight will just drop off me :)

It's only been three days but I'm quite proud of myself for keeping up the diary this long. Especially as I'm still managing not to rigidly count my calories.
When I was younger I used to lay awake on a night planning my next couple of days food. I'd right it down in a diary what I'd have each day and then tik it off once I'd eaten it.
I'd say I was only going to have a glass of milk and an apple for breakfast. Lunch would be a salad pot from school etc etc.
Baring in mind these salad pots were tiny! About the size of your fist. I never kept it up obviously, and I'd never even manage to stick to it for one day.
So I devised an exercise plan to do on a night in my room before bed. I would be like 10 star jumps, 10 leg lifts and stuff and I'd have to repeat it 5 times every night.
I was 12 :/
It was when I started being bullied about my weight, but when I look back now, I wasn't even that fat! I was 11.5 stone at my heaviest, thats only 162 pounds! I weighed 4 stone more last year and the year before ins chool and no one said a thing.
I was also boderline OCD so I'd really plan it out.
Also there was once a time when I would buy a galaxy and a galaxy caramel on the way to school. I'd eat both of them before I even reached the gate, but then I'd eat less real food to compensate for the 500 extra calories I'd just consumed.

I was weird as a child! I joined weight watchers at 15, my Doctor said I could, and my mum paid so it was all good in my eyes! My mum went with me and in the first week I lost 4.5 pounds! But then I really struggled and my relationship with food got really bad, I couldn't eat any pizza, whereas now, if I feel like it I'll eat just one slice not a whole one. I had cut out so much stuff that I put on stones when I left.
I put on over a stone a year since leaving, until this year, where I'm determined to lose it again. I don't want to go right back down to 10 stone, because I looked ill, and I had a huge head, so I'm going to exercise, starting in about 5 minutes!, and tone up and gain muscle so I can be slim but weigh a little bit more. I'm hoping for 10stone 10. I'll be at 25 BMI and then I can see how I feel and look from there.

Todays food..
Was in the above post but plans changed so I'm puting it separately instead.
Woke up about 1ish today, didn't eat straight away as was going to run, but I'm now going for my run about 4ish when I wake up the boyfriend.

Breakfast - Pear, more like a snack but I ate it as I was writing on here and preparing my lunch.
Lunch - Didn't finish it :O I had a packet of mushrooms, I fry them with no oil so its no extra calories, two scsrambled eggs, no added milk or butter, half a tin of beans and two slices of white toast. Except I only ate about a quarter of a tin of beans and 1.5 slices of toast. I started to feel fullish but was like, I can't waste healthy food! So I ate the last two mushrooms and left the rest of the egg, beans and bread.
Tea - Spaghetti Bolognaise. Love it :) Lean mince, fried in no oil and fat drained off, really low cal ragu and whole wheat pasta. Had a really small portion of the mince over a weighed out portion of pasta, was really filling and yummy.
Snacks - Muller light yoghurt, a couple of bites of swiss roll, only to taste it really, but still naughty. And like half a bag of Sensations!! :O They were so nice and I didn't realise how many I'd eaten until it was too late. Luckily I've been really good today so it should be ok.

Going to be soon, I'm sooo tired and I have to be up in the morning. Will probably have breakfast at home depending on time I set off. But if I do that I can weigh myself tomorrow. I just realised tonight that I've been at my boyfriends over a week now so I haven't weighed myself in like 11 days or so! Really hoping its a good loss or at least the same.
If I've put on I know it's because of Easter and I'll be so annoyed at myself.

You should get the 1calorie spray. Tis awesome for veg/meat and lots of other stuff. Only need like 3-4 sprays and it works well with chicken. I got mine from Somerfield but they sell them in Asda, Tescos and stuff :D
 
Got some of it at home just none here. There only thing I ever use anything for is chicken anyway, and we don't have it that often, fresh chicken is soooo expensive!
We went shopping yesterday and spent over £40 for two of us *faints*
 
I did my "run".
I jogged/ran up two and a bit flights of stairs before I had to slow down.
I fast walked then walked the rest of them. It was soo hard, but I went up 13 flights of stairs in 3minutes 50 seconds. I will do it again next time I'm at my boyfriends and hopefully improve that time.
I made my boyfriend do it with me too, he is just about as unfit but is slimmer and weighs a lot less.
He could have beaten me, but I changed my mind about racing him when it got difficult!
The walls and carpets have jsut been abandoned the further up you get so it looks almost unfinished, so I didn't want to be on my own really anyway.

Consider yourself lucky, I feed six people in my house. We spend about that much per meal. (In American dollars though, my husband has expensive food tastes)

Here's a trick for using oil, if you let the pan heat up first, then add the oil, you can use considerably less oil to keep stuff from sticking...especially if that's the only reason you're using oil. And using olive oil instead of vegetable oil will give you some good fats. But olive oil does have a low smoke temp so you have to watch your heat.
