I'm a male, 19, 220 lbs., 6'0". I want to get down to 190 lbs. So far, I am doing: 150 push-ups; 150 sit-ups; 150 push-aways; 150 crunches; and 15 minutes worth of elbow planks DAILY; 60 minutes of stationary bike 110-130 RPMs on light to moderate resistance 3-4 times a week. I am also running 3-4 times a week but I have asthma so it's not for very far. All of this combined with healthier food choices. I just began this routine yesterday; when should I expect results? Should I add anything? Any other relevant information? Thank you.

Hi cjb.

Awesome effort here! I

What is missing in your very active exercise program is weight training.

To burn fat, you must build lean mass. Cardio won't do that with any significance and is usually why people "over-cardio", lose scale weight, but get saggy skin. Cardio has its place for sure, but not as a primary fat burner.

Obviously, you are one strong guy!

You are very ambitious, but I would suggest you not overdo things either.

I don't see any targeted lower body resistance training there either. Legs are 60% of your mass, and great thermogenesis occurs when you hit them with a challenge.

Watch knees! High impact! Also, personally I would advise against sit ups, opting instead for deep TVA (Transversus Abdominus) Training.

Also, have a plan to change what you are doing in 3-4 weeks max, before you hit a plateau.

Sounds like you are off to a flying start!

Let us know how it goes! I have found the people here to be very supportive :)
