I want to work at it, and get fit.

Hello everyone,

In a few short weeks I'll be hitting my 20th birthday, and I need to make a life change. I need to start losing weight, and just getting a better stance in life. I don't really have the self confidence to go to a gym, at least not now. However in my current home I have a weight lifting bench, resistance band, low weight dumbbells, and a leg attachment on the bench.

If there is anyone who can lend advice, or help me come up with a routine I'd be very appreciative.

I'm starting to drop sodas and garbage drinks from my diet and drink only water/milk. And I'm in the process of eating less junk.

I hope to meet fellow people working at the goal of bettering their life as I am. I hope to make some friend here, and get to know others.
 
Hi, im 21, have similar gym phobia issues. i just started yesterday. Im no expert by any means but my first step was to cut soda and anything but water completely. its hard! i wish you luck i know how much you want to be healthy, me too. we gotta keep at it. im going to look out for you hopefully we can share with each other what we learn and do this together.
 
i also started going for runs. starting slow. it makes you feel like your accomplishing something, im going to do this for a while before i hit the gym.

Absolutely I'll keep an eye out for you as well. Start tomorrow I'll have mornings from 8-11 free. So, I'm thinking of going for a walk/jog from 8-8:30 and then some stretches at home with some resistance/weights before leaving for class at 11.
