I want to lose the beer gut, but I don't want to lose the beer

So how about some background information. I'm a 27 year old male. I'm currently 5' 7" 200 lbs and according to an online calculator, have a BMI of 31.3. I currently work Mon-Friday. 8-5 as a network administrator for a sawmill, so I have a pretty easy, laid back job. Not very physically demanding. From 5-8 Monday-Friday I work either for my hydro graphics business or as a light laborer for my friend's construction business. Saturdays I work at a body shop from 9ish-3ish. I currently smoke 4-6 cigarettes a day Monday-Thursday, 10-12 on Friday-Sunday. I am on of those people who pretty much do the same thing everyday with little variation.

From about 2005-2010 (20-26) I stayed about 155 lbs regardless of what I ate or how much I drank. What happened you say? I quit smoking and put on about 50 pounds in 2011. So here I am a 155lb guy with an extra 50lb gut. So certain other situations arose and I found myself smoking again and eating less and drinking more and guess what happened? Stayed the same weight.

About 10 months ago I started P90X and did it for a month, until I got drunk one night and thought it would be a good idea to do a back flip off of a low deck, maybe 6"-10" above the ground. I used to be a tumbling coach and used to could do a standing back tuck with no problems. So I was drunk maybe 12-14 beers in and guess what happened? I over shot the back flip and landed on my back directly on a cinder block and severely dislocated my right shoulder. So that put a stop to P90X, for a while. So about 3 months ago I happened to find myself working down in the engine room of a coast guard cutter and wound up dislocating my left shoulder. So here I am, 155lb guy with a 50lb gut and two bad shoulders.

So now I have decided to give INSANITY a try. Reasons being, no pull ups and no weights. I don't want to risk re-injuring my shoulders again, until i get a bit stronger and a little lighter. However, I do not really want to give up my lifestyle, I like it. Obviously my smoking and drinking during the week will slow down, a bit.

So you want to hear about my strange diet. Well, I don't think it is strange, but everyone else does. Where I come from, you work all the time and you drink all the time. And if you're not working, you are drinking. Seriously I started drinking at 14. It's just how it is round these parts. So I'm not about to give up my alcohol. That being said, I have an over-achieving work ethic and don't mind putting in the extra effort so I can drink those 12 packs on the weekend. Back to the diet.

Monday-Thursday, I wake up around 5:30, lay in bed till 7:00 and goto work; No breakfast. I eat the same 12" sub from Subway around noon, and I drink almost a gallon of sweet tea throughout the day; No coffee for me. I then start drinking about 1 beer per hour from 5-8 while working, then I shower and goto bed around 9-10; No dinner.

Friday, is almost the same. No breakfast, 12" sub at noon, 3/4 gallon of sweet tea, No dinner, about 8 beers and asleep by midnight.

Saturday starts to get interesting. No breakfast, 1-2 glasses of sweet tea, start drinking about 10-11. No lunch. No dinner. Usually in bed around midnight. I usually drink about 12 beers on Saturdays.

Sundays are even more interesting. Breakfast at 8 am. Same place every Sunday, Same thing every sunday. 2 scrambled eggs, side of corn beef hash, side of home fries. 1-2 glasses of sweet tea. Start drinking around 10-11. Goto the beach. No lunch. Go home around 5. Have probably drank 18-24 beers by this point. Drink a gatorade, 2-3 glasses of water. In bed asleep by 6 pm.

In fact I have nutrition tables based on an average week: View attachment 5876

So basically I was just wondering If there were others like me? How are things working for you?

Or for people who just freaked out by reading this, What would you suggest? Cutting back on alcohol consumption is pretty much out of the question aside from Monday-Thursday.

On Monday through Thursday, you wake up at 5:30 and don't go to work until 7. Start running for 30-45 minutes during that time (jogging, no need to overwork yourself at the beginning). Throw in 5-10 minutes of stretching and light body weight exercise for good measure. You will see results. Do the same Saturday before going to work at 9 - shoot for about 3-4 days/wk.

If you are serious about losing the weight, add some breakfast in and cut out some of the sweet tea throughout the day.
