I thought work would help me lose weight...

So I've been recently trying to lose weight. Well, since before christmas. I managed to drop a few pounds, but nothing close to what I want. For the last 2 months or so I've had this pretty cool job working overnights as a wal-mart stocker. Basically I stock shelves all night. Most of the time I'm on grocery side. I start work at 10 pm, get a break at 12, eat lunch from 2-3, get another break at 5, and finish up by 7 am. Then I go home and sleep until 4 or 5. I thought that this job, which is extremely physical, would help me lose weight, but I've only lost 2 or 3 pounds since I started. I'm 5 foot 7, female, 20 years old, and I weight 220 pounds. I don't eat a ton of food, but I know I could eat healthier, which is something I'm going to change ASAP. But I would have thought with the sheer amount of physical activity that I am in no way use to doing, I would have dropped at least 10 pounds by now!

I'm not into sports, but I walk my dog for at least 20 minutes every night. Otherwise I go to school twice a week for about 6 hours a day.

So, advice? Please?

sometimes calories have a way of sneaking past us...maybe you should start by writing down how many calories you eat every day...thats where I'd start.

I don't trust any calculator that tells me how much I'm burning through physical exercise; most of them are way too high. You might also be building muscle, are you often sore and aching after work?
