I thought I was all alone.....

Hi everybody! As you can see by my title I thought I was all alone. I really want to make a good efort at getting back into shape. I'm 30, 6'6" about 255 not so good looking pounds. My goal of course is to lose about 30 pounds and tone up. I have started exercise programs in the past but work always seemed to get in the way. Now I'm in a position that allows me the flexibility to workout regularly and I'm going to do it! Both of my parents died from heart disease at a young age (60) and I don't want that to happen to me. I remember that days when I had 4% body fat and to tell you the truth I sorta miss them. I don't necessarilly want to get back down to 4% but I would love to see my abs again and be able to take my shirt off at the beach. It's been at least 7 years since I've done that. My ultimate goal is to get in good enough shape to join one of the local semi-pro football teams here in Las Vegas. I know I have alot of miles ahead of me but I'm ready for it. If anybody has any suggestions on workout programs or specific exercises I'm all eyes and ears.

Welcome bro! Your never alone in anything.. everyone has something in mind here that they want to improve. Glad you joined the crew. As merci said.. lots to be learned here... don't be shy to search for anything.
 
Thanks everybody! I'm gonna make it happen. I'm working on getting those progression pics too so I can keep track of how I'm doing. Will keep you all posted.
