Call 911! Could be any number of things. First to come to mind is heart attack, atrial fib, or a blood pressure emergency. Get help asap!

um the kid's only 17...hasn't been online in here since dec... but i bet he has anxiety/panic attacks.....i feel like that quite often

I think its more likely that he has, i forgot the medical term, but periods of irregular heart beats just as he shortly described. I know of someone who suffered the same thing might happen once a month ( i dont know just guessing) but had to be monitored..
