I think I pulled a muscle..

I was doing deadlifts today, I was on my last set with the heaviest weight, and I picked up the bar and stood up, then it felt like someone punched me right in the left side near the back. My left side gave out and I was leaning to the left. I tried really hard to straighten out but it hurt like hell. I just did a few reps then quit and tried to stretch, but the pain was there for the whole workout... and it still hurts like a bitch just sitting here.

I must have pulled a muscle, i've never had any injuries related to lifting before... how long will this last? Should I take the deadlifts out for a while? If so how long? And can someone show me some links that show some back stretches? I need to learn to stretch my back out better in the future.

Oh, and could the reason I pulled the muscle be because of my form?

You might have tweeked a lat or something. It may have been your form but then again it might not have been that and rather an issue with muscle mechanics at the time.

Well, I can't really feel it much anymore. I can still notice it if I sleep on my side and stretch and things..... but it don't really notice it much anymore.

Anyone have any hints on what may have happened?

I am going to workout tommorrow, and i'll be doing squats and lats (among other things), so i'll definitely be hitting that area of my body again..... it won't be completely working that area like the deadlift was, but it'll hit there....

I feel that my body should be able to handle it. Any thoughts on any of this?
