Im fat yes i am and im sick of it. broken hearts are very good motivators. i have been walking alot and riding my stationary bike and i said the hell with it tonight and jumped on my tread mill and went at it. 0 incline and at a 4.3 mph i believe. may not be the fastest but in under 14 minutes my mile was complete. never before have i done it. and im kinda pumped. and sore. that is all.

GRATZ!!!! be careful you don't mess your knees up!!!!
I'd suggest trying running for 5 minutes a day to start, then 6, then.. .more.....
(of course,... do some walking on the treadmill too)
and don't forget your cooldown. This can very important for you heart.

great job man. keep up the good work. sooner than you know it you're going to get in fantastic shape! just never give up!

CONGRATS!!! I remember when I did a mile with just jogging. Keep it up! It's so rewarding (I know this post is old, but I thought I'd reply I can totaly relate on that awesome feeling)

thanks all. i have been doing it alot lately and its a pain. BUT i cant believe i have been running a mile. today i did it at 13 minutes. its slow but who cares, im actually going a lil faster slowly. im majorly pumped about it, about as pumped as i am about the shorts that didnt fit 2 weeks ago but does now. actually getting a lil loose. POW!!

Nice job! Maybe try adding some strength training to your workouts. Maybe start with 3 sets of 10 push ups?

i have been doing some strength training {mostly arms and chest
} but stopped this week to go more heavy on the cardio. i want to see what happens on the scale. i weigh in every friday morning so we shall see. atm i dont think im eating enough calories to get any benefit from hitting the weights.

I've been working through the Couch to 5k plan ... it's a great way to get yourself worked up to running 5k (3.1 miles), and running is FANTASTIC at helping you lose weight. Awesome job with the mile run!!!
