I need Suggestions

For a workout program, I really don't have any idea what to do.

I'm 17 years old, I weight 234 lbs, I'm 5'5 tall. I do exercise on Tuesday's and Saturday's via soccer for about an hour or two, but the rest of those days I'm a couch potato and I'd really love to change that, however I don't really know any exercises other than the standard P.E. Pushups (which I can't do more than 3) and Sit ups (I can do as much as 30 or so at a time for that)

Could you please guide me towards some routines that would be appropriate and fitting? I have about 7 hours every day to work, so time isn't really a problem...motivation is.

Have you ever considered joining a gym?

If you're going to stay in home, be creative. You can do body weight circuits, jump rope, go for runs/jogs, etc.

I think that Steve is correct. Joining a gym can be very helpful and motivational, especially if you use the services of a personal trainer for awhile.

However, I would not waste the money if you don't feel that you would be motivated to go.

Another option would be to purchase some exercise videos. I personally like Jari Love's video series. They are challenging, but you can work at your own pace.

Bollocks is it, the last thing I want to do at 17 (or any age really) is walk into a gym with a bunch of hench guys and hot girls around you all lifting 2 times your body weight. It's very DE-motivational if you ask me, and takes a lot of getting used to.

Mate, if you aren't bothered by social/peer pressure, then go nuts at a gym. However, if you're human, you can find convenient ways to lose weight at home or near your house.

The majority of my weight was dropped just by walking to and from the video store (renting a video served as a non-food reward system, try finding something similar).

When you're ready and have a good knowledge of what you're looking to do- THEN I would consider joining a gym. Read the stickies, ask multiple experts, get advice from on here, then collaborate at figure out the best way to get to your goals.
