I need suggestions and help

Hi, I am new here. I want to loose weight the right way, but right now I can't even walk long distances because of a fibromyalgia flair up. Does any one have any suggestions.
 
BigMamma..fibro is so difficult to deal with, I am sorry that you have this challenge in your life. I have somebody very close to me with , and I see the pain that is causes. Are you able to get to a pool? Excersizing in water may assist with your mobility. You may also want to start your excersize program while sitting in a chair. I have seen Richard Simmons do a work out for people that have limited mobility. Basically involving leg movements and arm movements while sitting in a chair, perhaps there is a video of it. Also start with a short walk to the end of the block, or down a couple houses down (depending on your capability) and build from there. Try to increase the number of times you do it a day and then the distance. Three really short walks to get that body moving. We all have a starting point, find yours and just build on it. I have also heard that strengthing excersizes are good for person with fibro. Start with really light weight 2 or 3lbs, or use soup cans and do arm raises etc. I hope these suggestions are helpful. :)

while I don't know anything about your condition, I would also suggest to start slow...do as much as you can - it is better than doing nothing and try to work within your limits.

Hello there! Good luck with everything, you found the right place to go! Everyone in this forum is SO NICE!! I think we all understand wanting to loose weight "right away" but as everyone knows, loosing weight takes time! Try to stay patient. As the saying goes "you didn't put it on overnight, you won't take it off overnight" Just curious, what exactly is a fibro flare up??
 
A pilates or yoga tape might be a good thing for you to try and if you can't walk long distances you might should try walking for 15 minutes 3 times a day or getting more exercise by gardening, housework, doing sit-ups or jumping jacks during commercials while watching T.V. and just trying to incorporate more activity in your day. Don't give up because exercise is difficult for you. Besides, a good eating plan is very effective for weight loss. Just burn more calories than you take in (1200 to 1500 is usually good). Of course your results will be better with exercise. Good luck!
 
Well I really don't know much about it, but according to my "natural cures" book that lists a bunch of, well natural stuff you use to make it better. hydroxytryptophan(5-HTP), S-Adenosylmethionine(SAMe), and magnesium are supposed to help. And eliminating or restricting refined sugars is also in there.


SAMe is somewhat expensive, but 5-HTP is like 15 bucks for 4 months. I've gone on some things similar to these and it really makes you be in an awesome mood. Well I really know nothing about it but make sure your workin out in one form or another. good luck and make sure your drinking your water!

my water? why u saying that...i have even increased my water consumption lol and drink about 80 oz. thanks for being concerned hehe

um are we like the only 2 here on the weekend?
