I need some dieting tips based on my measurements which are 5'4" height and 155 lbs?

Hi! I am a 23 yr old female looking for some helpful advice between good food choices and excerise that can help me lose weight. I used to be 120 and gained 35 lbs over the last 3 years. Most of the fat is in my lower half since I am pear shaped all the weight tends to go to the bottom half. I want to shed this weight off and eat more healthier for now on but don't know where to start. I am not a fruit or yogurt person but will have my options open. I was thinking the kellogs diet but I am not a fan of milk. I would like to hear everyones opinion. and would like to document my weight loss on here. thank you in advance!
 
You don't need a fad diet, just a good, healthy diet. Mostly fruits and vegetables, with whole grains, beans/legumes, and nuts/seeds. Minimal if any animal products. Try to eliminate processed foods.

Add in cardio most days, and resistance training a few times a week, and you're good to go.
 
Add fish and chicken, as long as you can get it from a farmers market where they are not grown with crazy hormone filled feed, and pay attention to serving size. Definitely cut out fast foods and junk foods. You *can* have them, but make it a rarity that you do. Also try using lots of fiber filled foods cause they will help you feel fuller longer and your body will burn a few more calories while digesting the fiber.

The cardio is a must to help burn more calories and take the weight off and the resistance training, as Joe suggested, will help you tone up.

In order to tone your body, you need to have a combination of a healthy diet, cardiac exercises, and strengthening exercises. I would say yoga exercise is great because of its benefits and it can be done at any time. I have recently bought Yoga for LifeDVD few months back. It has helped me tone up my whole body and rejunevate it. It re energize and provide the lost strength to the body. It increases celebacy and is useful for gas in the stomach and indigestion. It strengthens the arch and make your body in proper shape.
