Hey everyone... Okay, I have an incredibly important event in two weeks from yesterday (so I have 13 days) to get as fit/lose as much weight as possible.

A little background:
Last August (2007) I weighed 215. Yesterday I was 165 (-50) and today I am up one to 166 after exercising twice, which was incredibly frustrating. Anyways, this past week I've lost about three pounds but I had finals and didn't really eat as many calories as I should have. I am worried if I start eating right (like 1200-1500 calories) again I'll gain weight.

I would love to be 155 in two weeks, but I know this isn't probably too achievable. I run and just got back into lifitng weights. Does anyone have any tips for anything I can do? I am out of school for these two weeks, so I have lots of time on my hands to do whatever I need to do.

I read something about a 7 day heart diet where you lose 10-17 pounds but it sounded kinda sketch.

Please help me. What can I do in 13 days?

Are you eating less than 1,200 calories? If so, chances are you're going to bounce lost weight back on as soon as you eat normally, unfortunately. Seems like that number is really low, though I don't know your age or height...starvation diets are never a good thing. They really throw your metabolism out of whack and make it difficult to lose weight normally.

Best thing to do is find out your basal metabolic rate + activity level caloric necessity, subtract 10% from that, and go from there.

Gaining weight after exercising is pretty common. Lifting weights especially builds muscle, which is more dense than fat. So you may gain weight, but still slim down.

I would actually up your caloric intake to something which is in the normal range for your activity level (if you're working out twice a day, 1,200 calories is WAY too low) and maintain your exercise routine. When I did this after restricting calories, I actually lost weight because my metabolism sped up...

Eat girl! It will help you lose weight.

Oh, and drink enough water. Losing a little water weight never hurts and will make you look less bloated too, because you won't be retaining.

why do you have to get a specific number in such a short period of time?

And the heart diet you're talking about is the sacred heart diet - basically a fad diet that goes super low calorie and will take off some weight -but it won't stay off ...

Just do the best you can without going to any extremes to drop a bunch of weight. Stop focusing on that damn scale number; just do everything you can within reason... If you do some crazy fad diet, you'll probably end up gaining all the weight back and maybe even some few friends with it, when you start eating normally again.

Don't starve yourself because then you'll just lose muscle and look flabby. Not cool.
