i need help with this

:confused: Is Rice and potatoes bad for you i have heard that rice is bad for you and about potatoes they are bad for you because they are very starchy. Also i need help do i have to completely elminate fat from my diet to lose weight i excerise 4-5 days a week on a gazelle and most of the time watch what i eat but sometimes i eat french fries with a steak or something is that really bad?
 
white rice wouldnt be a good choice as its been stripped of its nutrients. brown rice would be better. both sweet and regular potatoes are fine in a meal plan as long as one does not go overboard with them.

when choosing carbs, think in terms of natural vs refined. potatoes, brown rice, whole grain oats, fruits and veggies are natural while avoiding white rice or bread and ingredients that say enriched.

and no you do not need to completely eliminate fat from your diet. fat is needed by the body even saturated fat, not too much of course. a good fat intake is somewhere around 20% of total calories consumed.

i dont like sweet potatoes i just like good ol reg potatoes like diced up spiced up n baked in the oven or any other kind of potato
