Ok. First off ill tell you im

22 years old
240 lbs
5''11

I bought a tredmill 3 weeks ago and have used the tredmill every week with about 2 days of break a week. My target weight is 200lbs. My regimine goes as follows

*I work as a labourer for my town 8 hours a day 5X week
*20-25 mins on the tredmill (it says i burn 240-260 calories per session)

And this whole time i kept my calories between 1500-2000 MAX. And no weight loss. What is going on? I would go on a 2 lb weight loss but quickly lose it.

Im getting very frustrated. Should i consume more calories because i work 8 hours a day at a labour job. drink 8-12 cups of water. Green tea every other day.

And yes im telling all the truth. Some people may not be 100 percent honest but this is all of it.

Any suggestions???

3 weeks isn't long enough to know for sure. Some people are lucky and start to drop weight immediately. Some people aren't as lucky and their bodies lose weight in chunks.

If you're truly eating fewer calories and keeping active, you *will* lose weight. You're just gonig to have to be patient. :)

When you are more active you have to consume more calories. You can go on google and search up how many calories I should eat a day. The calculator will ask for you age, weight, height and your activity level. When you get your results subtract 500 calories from it, and that will be how many calories you should eat to lose weight...I hope this helps you.

thanks bud. it says with my activity i should be eating 3400 cals for my size age and all that. so -500 is 2900. i feel full as hell if i eat anything more than like 2200 or something. but i cant deprive my body. so i will stick to 2600-3000 :)

What is the intensity level you are working out at?

The reason I ask is because if you are not on the treadmill at a high enough intensity, you won't burn anything.

How fast are you walking? Do you sweat? Do you walk in intervals where you run out of breath, walk slower and then ramp up the intensity again.

Just because you work for eight hours a day and walk on a treadmill for 30 mins does not mean you will lose weight.

I've had some of the same issues and I am working out "hard" on the treadmill.

Its been said in this thread, but its worth repeating - working out isn't everything, no matter how hard, if you're still eating more than your body burns.

Hi, couple of comments
1. are you just weighing yourself or taking body fat and waist/hip measurements as well? i ask as if your body comp is changing from the exercise (i.e putting on a little muscle and dropping a little fat) this might not show up on the scales - it will show up on body fat / measurements though.
2. what are you doing on the treadmill? is it 20-25 mins or walking, steady state jogging? If so try do some intervals training where you go 1 minute at a fast pace and 1-2 minutes at a slower pase (to recover) judge the spedds by your current level of fitness and build up. Plus cardio alone is not as effective for weight loss as doing weight training. This helps build muscle - metabolic tissue.

Good luck and keep going - you will reach your goal if you believe in yourself and work hard.
