I'm 16, 330lbs, and I have no idea how to lose weight. I keep trying but I always go back to my old ways. I realize that for a 16 year old (or anyone really), this is completely unhealthy. I really need tips on dieting and motivation. Thank you guys!

Hi Tony,

Welcome, there are a lot of resources on here! Research some good diet and exercise plans!

Some personal tips from someone who previously lost weight and is going at it again:
1- Set a target goal weight and break it into mini targets (for e.g. if you want to lose 50 lbs, try to target the first 5, then focus on the next 5, then the next 5 etc.)
2- Build up consistency: promise yourself to make a healthy choice every single day
3- Do NOT skip meals- instead eat 5 small healthy meals in a day- lots of greens, fruits and healthy whole grains
4- It's ok if you mess up but get back on the bandwagon
5- NO MATTER WHAT, do not let the negative chatter in your head and the negative people around you let you down- your body is your temple, own it, be good to it, don't let ANYONE stand in your way- not even yourself!!
6- Know that the first few days/weeks will be tough - but I promise that it gets better, once you see the scale tip in the right direction, it's really very motivating to keep up with the diet and exercise!

Hi! I think you should check out the weight loss diary subforum. It tends to be the most active part of the site and there are a lot of great people who can provide a lot of support there.

Stop drinking soda, or any sugary drinks at all. Drink water. You'll be losing weight in no time.
