I need help - 20 pounds

I am 6'0 and 200 pounds. I was 180 pounds since the age of seventeen, and I always looked good at that weight and felt great too. This year I have put on 20 pounds because my vision was compromised by a retina disease that needed treatment. I was unable to see, so I stayed at home and didn't get much activity, and I managed to gain 20 pounds. I liked how I was at 180, and none of my favorite clothes fit me. I was healthy and felt great then. Now that my disease is cured, I want to lose these 20 pounds. For the past week I've been walking 3 miles per day, and I don't have any commitment problems doing this on a daily basis. My doctor says walking is the healthiest thing for me (I cannot lift weight because of glaucoma risks). Is there a way to effectively get down to my original 180 weight by Christmas time? I know that long term habits must be changed, but it would mean the world to me to accomplish this goal by the holiday. Please help me.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Just look a round this site and you'll find a the tools you need to figure out how much calories you should be eating to lose weight. Walking is very good if your unable to do a lot of other types of exercises. Eating healthy and counting calories works.
Good luck.
