I have tried to find the answer everywhere, please help me :(

Hi

I am new to the boards and I am so hoping one of you can help me because I just don't know what I am doing wrong:confused:

I had a baby 8 months ago and have almost got back to my pre pregnancy weight. I went up to 15 half stone and and have managed to get down to 11 stone 3....however this is still 2 stone over the weight I should be :sad3:

I have been doing weight watchers for around 5 months and it has worked to a certain extent but the weight loss has now stopped. For the last 2 months there has been about 2lb lost. I don't understansd this as I work out hard 4 times a week.....I run between 10 and 12 miles a week and do weight training.

I am on 19 points a day and on the weeks I stuck to that I either stayed the same or gained. My hubby asked me to eat what I wanted for a week and train to see what happened and I lost 1.5 lbs...so now I am even more confused.

I just want to know what to do as I will do it....I just need to know. I am seriously considering slim fast but then can that sustainmy training

Can anyone help....I am getting desperate. My leader at ww doesn't seem to know what she is talking about and just looks at me as if to say "yeah yeah ok love".

Thanking you in advance

Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. :/

But for next time around... breastfeeding helps you drop pregnancy weight. And obviously it's better for your baby. So I'd recommend doing that the next time to benefit you both. :)

i know how u feel!

hi s, as a mum myself your story hit home for me. its so frustrating losing weight! u work your butt off and dont see much results. the old fable is true im afraid, u have the initial weight loss and congratulations on that, but as u know it all slows down and thats when u need the pateince. i personally dont do ww i just watch what i eat but i can guarantee u that exercise is the only answer. i took me a long time to accept the weight i was and work on the inches rather than the scales. my advice to u, chuck the scales away and work on feeling good and strong and fit. theres no better buzz than u feel after a workout. i have to workout at home as i have a toddler and have lost inches rather than weight its so frustrating! if u feel u have a problem area then spot train on that part thats what i do and seems to work. hope this helps and good luck sjx

I know weight watchers is all about portion control and sensible eating...

but that's only one side of the coin. You need to exercise, both aerobically and also with resistance training, to maximize fat loss.

Calorie consumption (AKA eating) is only the first step like Malkore said. If you do decrease caloric intake you will lose weight, for a little while. Eventually your body will adjust and resist losing fat, and thats what you really want to lose. In a nutshell, try to eliminate sugar, excess fat (you still need a bit of fat for digestion) drink plenty of water, and start some sort of cardio and resistance program to boost your metabolism.

Don't be too obsessed with the scale...it's an instrument of the devil.

Just today I missed working-out with my trainer & wife....and the two of them talked. They both agree strongly that I'm making huge improvements and I'm looking great...yet every time I see my nutritionist I see very little movement on the scale and just moderate movement on the BF% Calipers. So why is it they both visually see huge changes and the scale & other instruments fail to convey the info & data that I psychologically want/need to see? Well, the scale just shows weight and the BF% calipers just show the subcutaneous fat on the locations I'm being pinched. I've seen plenty of lean guys who still have residual fat around the backside of the kidneys, when I continue pinching there I may be wasting time and getting a low reading, whereas the visceral fat lost inside me may not be seen on the scale because I've added muscle on the bicep.

What I'm suggesting is that sometimes, despite having instrumention, we're still fying blind...and our weight-loss and body changes occur so slowly it's like trying to watch grass grow; it happens, but you just can't see it.

In your case it's one or two things. As dieting goes, we all generally have a tendency to slack-off a bit as the weeks go by. First we treat ourselves to a size small yogurt, then a bit more and maybe add a wee bit of topping. It's very easy to accidently dial-in more calories then we realize. You may want to revamp your diet and really put it under the microscope...it's sinfully easy to eat more calories then you realize. Are you still being as militant and scrutinizing on your portions?? ...or have you been hitting a few sweets and indulgences here and there???

Beyond that, the body requires less energy as it becomes lighter & leaner...and the body adapts to a calorie deficit to some degree; it may take more exercise and fewer calories to make more progress at this point. At the same time, I rather doubt this is entirely to blame....you may be eating a bit more and your body may be a slight bit more efficeint, but overall your probably making progress but just not seeing it on the scale. I doubt anything is "wrong", we're just a goal-oriented society and very results-driven.

Put the diet under the microscope, bump the exercise to the next level, stay off the scale for a month and try to get away from letting the scale dictate how you're progressing. There's more progress in your diet on Earth then there is in your scale! :D

Your not going to quit, you've come too far and worked too hard to turn back at this point. Up your game, stay the course, don't let numbers on a scale disuade you. Endeavor to persevere and you will continue to succeed. Yes, it's as simple as that, trust me! :D
