I have started my new food nregime

Hello again all I have just joined for the first time. I am 68 years old an ex smoker and I weigh 15 and a 1/2 stone most of that is my belly.
When I worked I was a chef so I know some things about food.

I have started on my food regime today 20/10/14 I have not looked at any books on diet or calories recently I am just making my regime up as I go along. I want to start off pretty hard so my first day I know I am going be pretty hungry I will ease of a little in the second week and again in the 3rd week. The first three weeks I intend to eat no meat at all except the odd sandwich with chicken breast, I go out once a week on a sunday dinner time I normally drink about 5 pints of bitter, which for these first 3 weeks I will try and cut to 3 pints.

I will be posting in this section off the forum my daily food consumption plus any lapses and any noticeable weight loss I would like all calorie counters to let me know where I am going wrong or with suggestons.


1st days food consumption

9 a.m Bowl of corn flakes with small amount of milk 1 teaspoon of sugar 1 cup of coffee milk no sugar.
1 p.m Small tin of cream of mushroom soup 2 ryvitas with a little butter.
2 p.m 2 rice cakes 1 with a little butter 1 cup of coffee 1 sugar and milk.
3 p.m 1 apple
4.45 p.m 1/2 tin red salmon sprinkle of vinigar 2 ryvitas with little butter.

Thats it for the day I'me going to bed early 8 p.m I normally eat most in the period from 5 p.m to 8 p.m boy am I hungry!:ack2: I am posting this about 3 p.m so all I have left is my 4.45 pm meal now it gets hard.

You are doing a great job. :) So you worked as a chef? So now I know who should we ask about cooking. :) 4:45 PM is too early for your last meal. I'm gonna be hungry too. :ack2:
 
Its great that you have worked to organize your changes. Its important to plan changes this way. It looks like you are not doing so much that you set yourself up. Congrats. I hope you post often I would like to know how things are going. Also I admire you for making up things for yourself as you go along. Often in the end we all end up doing what works for us. However to reach that point we coast along.

I am using my mobile to reply its quite fiddly I posted today explaining that my router had broken down I should have the replacement by fri so I am going to try and stock to my mondays diet for the next 2 days should be ok again by friday. Thanks for the nice things you both have said.

I know 4.45 is a bit early for the last meal but I wanted to start off hard for the 11st 3days later ile choose a later time.
I felt quite hungry when I first went to bed but as I got tired it got easier I slept quite well felt ok this morning had a cup of coffee at 8.30 then a bowl of cornflakes at 9

Your doing amazing. Anytime I start taking in less food than I am used to I feel hungry. Even when I have eaten plenty of food. Sometimes for me I will eat when I am not hungry. Amazing work:seeya:
 
I was feeling hungry this morning I find it helped me by thinking off people who have had food deprivation the japenese p.o.w.'s would have been ecstatic eating what I have been eating
. I also thought that I am supposed to be hungry eating a lot less than I normally do. The body has to feel hungry before it starts burming off its own accumulated fat so to me hunger is a good feeling showing me what I am doing is working.
 
I now have my new router 2nd day was roughly the same as the first 3rd day as follows
9a.m bowl of rice crispies small amount of milk 1 tsp of sugar 1 cup of coffee and milk 1 tsp sugar,
1 p.m. 1 tin tomato soup bread roll with a little butter 1 ryvita little butter and jam 1 cup tea milk no sugar
3 p.m 1 apple 1 cup of coffee and milk.
still to come 4,45 1 small baked potato a little butter and chedder cheese 1 cup of coffee milk 1 tsp sugar.
5.15 p.m sardine sandwich 2 slices of bread a little butter 1 cup of tea and little milk.

I was hungry yesterday but today has been ok'. post again tomorrow.
 
Sorry forgot to post yesterday 5th day fri 9.45 bowl of cornflakes little milk 1 teaspoon sugar 1 p.m mushroom soup bread roll little butter 1 cup of coffee 1 teaspoon sugar 3 p.m 2 rice cakes with a little butter 1 cup of tea milk no sugar 4.45 salmon steak small baked potato littlem butter 1 cup coffee 1 sugar. Did'ent feel at all hungry today I seem to have quite a lot of energy i'me still keeping up the brisk walks.

I am annoyed now I logged in and typed in todays post in the quick reply box, when I tried to post it I got the message that I did not have permission to post and to refresh the page and log in again. How does one refresh the page without clicking off which is what I did only to find I had lost my post. I may resubmit it if I feel like it to.morrow otherwise it is lost. I did say that I am going to weigh myself tomorrow to see how i'me doing.

tried to enter my post again was asked to log in again and lost post I have lost 7 lb for my first week I will only be posting my weightr loss not my diet in future.
 
I have completed my first week and managed to lose 7lb I tried posting my consumption each day but unfortunately things went wrong. I will try again. Yesterday 1st day of 2nd week 9.30 A piece of birthday cake(did'ent plan this) so I have made changes to the remainder of my diet today. 10.30 1 rice cake a little butter 1 cup of coffee 1 sugar 1 p.m small baked potato with onion cheese and a little butter 2. p.m mug of my home made vegetable soup 1 slice of bread and butter 5 p.m cheese and onion toastie (just to test my new toastie machine) 1 cup of tea. 6 p.m a handful of pistachio nuts.
 
I have been feeling good on this diet have noticed my energy levels are up, still continuing my brisk walks. I have read somewhere that the first week of a new diet brings best results then weight loss slows down so I am expecting to lose less weight this week but I am hoping it keeps going the right way. I will post again later today.
 
Congrats on losing so much weight that is exciting. Dont you just love pistachio nuts. I just ordered raw organic almonds and cannot wait until they get here. Now the challenge is not wanting to eat a pound at a time.
 
tues 2nd day 2nd week 9.30 p.m torpedo bread roll with a little butter and mashed sardine
10 p.m 1 cup tea milk no sugar
12 p.m cheese sandwich made with 1 slice of bread 1 cup of coffee milk 1 sugar
2.30 p.m mug of my home made veg soup 1 piece of apple pie a little custard.
3.30 two cream crackers butter a little jam.
4.15 1 apple
5.30 small salmon steak 2 ryvitas a little butter 1 cup of tea milk no sugar.
still to come handful of pistachio nuts.
