I'm sorry. I am new here and I don't know how to address other people very well. I hope I can make myself understood.
In August 2010 I quit smoking. Since then I have gained 75 lbs. I was already 25 lbs overweight due to pregnancy.
In March I am going to a wedding and I am losing weight so I can find a dress to fit me and I can look nice. March is also my birthday and I told my husband that if I lose 50 lbs by my birthday, he has to take me to my favorite restaurant that is 4 hours drive one way.
I have been watching what I eat and exercising for 1 week now. I have already lost 10 lbs in 7 days.
I am not very good with complicated things so all I have been doing is making sure I only eat 1300 calories a day, taking a multivitamin to make up for whatever I am not eating. I have been using a Gazelle for 40 minutes a day. 20 minutes in the morning and 20 before bed. I only use the Gazelle in the morning. No exercise afterwards. But in the evening I use the Gazelle for 20 minutes and then exercise for an hour.
That is about the extent of my weight loss program. I haven't told my husband that I have started exercising. I am seeing how much weight I can lose before he notices, so I exercise before he gets out of bed and then again after he goes to work. He works 3rd, so that's before bedtime to me.
The first few days I exercised, I fell asleep 10 minutes afterwards. I thought that was pretty cool. I never go right to sleep. But these past couple of days I have been having trouble going to sleep. I took 6 mg of melatonin before I went to bed and I was asleep 20 minutes later. I slept hard for 2 hours and was awake the rest of the night. It was the same the next night.
I have been exercising my legs and butt muscles a lot because someone told me that they are the largest muscles in the body and will burn the most calories if I exercise them. I have also been doing sit-ups and stomach crunches to get rid of my stomach. It has been 3 years since I had my kid and I still look pregnant.
There was another problem that I wanted to explain, but I seem to have forgotten. I will probably wake at 3 am and realize what I had forgotten. If I remember it, I will type it later. I hope maybe you guys can point me in a better direction.
