I thought I would be more sociable than my usual lurking in the background and say hello. So hello...
About a year ago my boy and I moved in together and discovered that we both loved cooking, both loved cheese (in all its wondrous and various forms) and both hated sports and exercise. Add to this the rebellious nature I have which leads me to do whatever people tell me not to do and there you have the crux of my problem now... a 30 pound weight gain.
The journey to slim down has already started - my partner has already lost all of his extra weight (SIGH) but I am still trudging on at 167 pounds (76kg) and wanting to get to 143 pounds (65 kg). It is very slow going for me!
We eat healthily now, not following any particular programme but making sure we make good food choices (low GI, no cheeses dammit, fresh fruit / veg and keep portion sizes much smaller). I am doing pilates / yoga at a local studio and strength / cardio work at the gym which I am really enjoying. I am seeing the changes in my body and have even started to suspect that I may have muscle under the wobbliness!
Anyway that is me and my journey. Feeling good about what I have done so far but have a long way to go! Any advice or words of encouragement from fellow journeyers would always be appreciated.
