I have come to a stand still

Hey, everyone. I am new to this forum so I will tell you my story.
I am 31 years old and have been over weight my entire life. As of Jan 12th I weighed in at 255lbs. I ended up catching the flu and losing a little bit of weight from that. Well, something in me snapped and I decided that this was my time to lose the weight. Its now March 19th and I am down to 223lbs. 32lbs in two months, but I have slowed down over the last two weeks.

This is my program. I eat 1500 calories a day, journaled to keep track. I exercise 5 to 6 days a week. At one point I was doing 2 hours of cardio and 1/2 of weights. Thats when I started slowing down. I figured my calorie deficit was too great so i cut my exercise back to 1/2 hour of cardio and 1/2 hour of weights a day. Still not much improvement. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get my body to start dropping again?

Going by geusswork, I'd say you're a fairly tall guy?

If that's the case, you're eating too damn little. You need to aim for around 2,000 - 2,500 calories. Your body is going into starvation mode and it'll be harder for you to lose weight. Up your calorie intake (I know, it kinda sounds like the opposite you should do, but I went through the same thing).

Good Luck!

Im 5'-10". Ive heard that that might be the case, but Ive also heard that starvation mode doesnt happen until under 1200 calories for men.

starvation mode doesn't occur at a specific calorie level - every body requires different amounts of calories...

but at 223 to maintain your current weight were you to never get your butt out of bed -that'd be a minimum of 2000 calories...

Search the forum for plateau...

the best advice you'll find for overcoming one -and it's counter intuitive but it's effective is to eat more..

basically eat at your maintenance level for a bit then cut back -

Spend some time with the stickied threads in nutrition, on topic and exercise - you'll find a few links to find the appropiate amount of calories for your long term success...
