I was just wondering how important body frame is to a goal im 6'6" but I have a MASSIVE frame I mean my fingers dont even come close to going around my wrist there is probably a good finger between them lol, so i figured 240 was a sensible goal...thoughts, comments, etc etc.

I know theres a guy in the before and after forum that went from 302-220 and he is 6'3 and looks pretty dam amazing. But I am sure he did quite a bit of strength training so that he didnt have to go down into the 100club to see those results.

given your height I would say 240-220 would be good. Only one way to find out! If your a big guy I would start with a small goal first. Sure I eventualy want to lose 120-130 lbs but thats overwhelming. So I started with 70lbs. Might wanna think of doing the same.

I think it's one of the things that you kind of have to judge as you go along.

When I first started losing weight, my goal was 150 - having always thought of myself as having a medium to large frame, despite my height. I tried to judge based on other family members and always thought of myself as taking after my father's side of the family.

As I began to lose weight, I realized that 150 was a good first goal, but I could likely go lower. I began to see more of my mother's shape in myself - something that I didn't think I had, when I was so very overweight. Now, I currently weigh 170 and have re-set my goal to be somewhere between 130 and 135 - and where I ultimately wind up will be as much a factor of my new fitness level as it will fat loss.

All of that to say, a lot of what you think about your body when you're overweight will change as you lose weight. I'd set a reasonable first goal and kind of reassess when you get close to that. You might find that your body shape changes enough as you go along that you'll come up with a whole new goal - whether lower or higher - before the end of the whole thing. :)
