I gained 4 pounds over night?

Is that physically possible? I did have a large dinner tonight and I've been gaining muscle but...

I weighed myself in the middle of the day yesterday and at the end of the day today, and there was a four pound difference... I've always had doubt in my scale, so is it that I really did gain four pounds or my scale doesn't work?

It is possible. this happened to me the other day. Usually its water retention. Drink tons to flush it out. That should help.

Good Luck!!

I gained 5 lbs in the past few days and started freaking out... until I realized it was water retention (that time of the month). Just drink TONS of water and see if that helps. :D

Don't panic. 4 pounds may show up on the scale, but you didn't gain 4 pounds of fat.

Why not try just weighing yourself once a week. Sudden fluctuations can see a bit frustrating.

Girls get off the damn scales!!! once a week is plenty to weight yourself, I do it once a month and don't put too much into it.. Go by how you look and feel not the numbers on the scale. Do you think your lookin better, do your clothes tell you something in the way they fit, how do you feel. that is the best way to gauge progress not a stupid scale that prob is not very accurate anyway!!! Take pictures sometime those tell you way more on progress than anything else!! Good luck :D

Jenn... lol I love your post.

... and she is totally right. Get rid of the scales. They aren't doing you a whole heck of a lot of good. Weight yourself once a week. My weight fluctuates from when I wake up to when I go to bed.

It also fluctuates when I get my period or when I had salty food a day ago. It also goes up when I add lean muscle to my body. Weighing yourself is not a good estimate of your progress.
