Hello all, this is the first time I have ever joined anything like this im hoping it will help me along with the weight-loss struggle, I think support is very important. My friend Christina introduced me to this site (hi christina :D ) she is my inspiration, she has struggled with her own weight-loss and is doing so great and looks amazing, im hoping that maby I can do the same, not just to look good but to be healthy. My biggest fear after having gained so much weight is getting diabetes or even worse plugging up my arteries and having heart problems or a heart attack at 24 years of age. To my suprise I weigh a whopping 228lbs, I was in denial and finally weighed myself. The last time that I weighed myself was before Christmas, since then I gained 13lbs that sure is alot. If i keep on this path I will surely weigh over 300lbs by next year so i have decided this ends here. So here you have it this is the begining of my journey to a new healthy me. Wish me luck cause im gonna need it !

Hey and welcome!

I'm so glad to be an inspiration to you! I'm also so glad you've decided to come and join this site :D I found that it is really helpful. Especially when you get into the challenges, they really help to motivate you.

It's always hard when you first start out because it's something so new, and you do have to change a lot. But it does get easier as it goes along. There will always be some struggles, some times of weakness, however it's normal. I still pig out every so often, but at least it's only once in a while and not every day!

I promise to help you out in any way I can because I know what it's like to be surprised by your weight and realizing... what have I done? How am I ever going to fix this? But trust me, I never thought I'd make it this far, and if I can do it, anyone can do it... especially you!

Hi Smurf,
Welcome to the WLF!

Starting out often feels so overwhelming! Just know that you CAN do this! It's one day, one pound and often, one meal at a time!

If you haven't already, you might consider checking out or both are sites for tracking calories, nutrition and fitness.

Wishing you success,

:D Welcome Smurf!

I'm new myself, but having support and someone to inspire you are very helpful to have. I'm just starting out at what I am making sure is the absolute highest weight I will ever be. I wish you the best and hopefully we can inspire other people someday ourselves.

Take care and I'll see you around the forum.:D

Ciao,
Maria
