I'm a drummer who likes to run. I also like going to the gym. Unfortunately, my body seems to bulk up too easily. After about three months at the gym, drumming and running become uncomfortable, so I stop working out. When I don't work out, I get very skinny. It doesn't matter how much I eat, I just lose weight. When I start feeling self conscious about my looks, I go back to the gym.
This story has been repeating about two years. I asked the personal trainer and he said I should try low weight and high reps, but I still started bulking up. I then went to the doctor, just to make sure everything was ok, and everything was. Oh, except for low blood pressure. I've also tried going veg while working out (under the supervision of a nutritionist), and while that did work, I'm sure there must be a better way. I love meat.
Anyway, I was wondering if you guys new of good exercises that didn't use any weights. I want to try exercises that use my own weight as resistance, but I want to do them without crappy techno music in the background. I mean, I don't want to sign up for an aerobics class. Also, I wanted to ask if any of you had the same problem of bulking too quickly, and what you did to stop it.
Thanks!
