Hey everyone
My name is Ghyslain, I'm from Montréal (south shore actually), I am 23 and I weigh a whopping 293 pounds.
I bet my story is no different from anyone's so I'll just go and ask my question right away.
Considering the fact that I hate gyms, as an exercise (the whole question is only about exercise, not diet), would badminton be enough to get me in shape ? Note that I am not talking about newbie badminton here, I know how to play and for my weight I consider myself miraculously good and I don't shy away from running and doing everything I can to win. I also usually play 2+ hours straight of either singles our doubles games. The thing is I don't get to play as often as I would like, but that can be fixed easily with help from friends
However I don't know if it would be enough to get in better shape. My confidence in my capabilities to lose weight is null and I would not want to try hard at eating better and not have any result with just playing badminton. I can feel I am starting to have problems with my back because of how heavy I am and that is driving me nuts to be honest so I am trying to build up motivation to finally do something about it
I'm glad to be here and I hope someday I'll have a reason to be as proud as you are of yourselves now. Some of you have had an amazing transformation and I admire that

At the risk of sounding corny, I just wanted you to know that everyone here supports you and I'm quite sure it's safe to say that we're also looking forward to the day you reach your goals
