I do alot of physical activity yet I am still heavy.

Hey guys

I am 6 foot and about 85 kg.

I play a lot of sport . for example last week i trained three nights doing tough stamina and sprinting training.
I also go to the gym quite a lot ( not in the last month but after my exams I will go back). why is it that I can't lose weight. I drink a lot of water I eat quite healthy. my usually daily diet would be:
Breakfast-cereal and orange juice
Lunch - a chicken wrap or chicken roll
Dinner-chicken/beef/pasta/ potatoes/veg
Eat a lot of fruit .
I do snack a little bit eating the odd chocolate bar. I might have a take away once every two weeks. Drink maybe once every two weeks.

why is it that i still have quite a bit of fat on me.

My legs are super toned, but my upper body isn't and I have a lot of fat around my pecks? no idea why that is.

Is there such thing as muscle fibers being more in your lower body than upper body?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as I cant seem to pin point where I'm going wrong.

Thanks guys

You're really not heavy for your height, you just may be carrying more body fat than you want. People have different fat storage patterns, some store more fat in various regions. Also remember that the areas you tend to store fat will be the last areas that get lean.

If you want to lose weight, try cutting some carbs (such as orange juice, pastas, and some fruits) from your diet, and add in some lean protein sources to make sure you're getting enough calories.

Also, when trying to lose weight, try to exercise at leat 4-5 times per week. 3 times is enough for maintenence, but may not give you the stimulus you ned to drop fat.

Hope that helps,

Mike

Hey mike. Thanks for your help . So what your saying is more protein less carbs . And more weight training. The reason I say weight training is because the three stamina sessions I do a week are vigerous and I usually cramp up for a day or so after training. Would taking two whey protein shakes a day help in fat loss ? Thanks for the help . Conor .
