Hi everyone!
I was reading First Magazine last night, and came across this fabulous little tidbit that I thought I share with all of you since I liked it so much...
"You were doing so well counting calories, but during your anniversary dinner with your husband, you caved and enjoyed a huge chocolaty dessert. Instead of beating yourself up, change the words I CHEATED to I CHOSE, as in I CHOSE TO EAT THAT CAKE. Berating yourself sends a negative self message that you're an untrustworthy person. A word exchange, however, reminds you that you are still in control of your diet (and your life!). This empowering perspective allows you to make future choices based on what your body and your mind decide is best."
I think this is so true - I always feel so bad when I eat "bad foods" and tell myself that I cheated. So, I'm gonna try saying I chose and see if I feel any better.
