I can't see the difference

Went to my family doctor today and on his scale only, I have lost 93 pounds since March 2012. I notice a difference in my clothes, I've gone down a size in shirts, don't know about pants because I've been taking them in. You see, I weighed 450 pounds last March. So my question is, is it because I was so big that I don't see the big difference when I look in the mirror? I'm trying so hard not to feel disheartened. I just want some honest perspectives and thoughts on this. Thank you :)

Congrats on the weight loss!
About not seeing the difference in how you look... It's not often that I can see the difference in how I look when I've lost weight, but other people notice. It's all in the mind.

As long as you notice the difference in how loose your clothes start to fit, then know that you've lost weight. Keep working at it and soon your mind will click that you have indeed lost weight.

I think that it is normal for a big person to continue to feel like a big person even if they become a thin person... It can even get in the way of knowing exactly when to stop... Your doctor will not tell you that you have lost weight if you haven't... Lets face it - they are quick enough to tell us to lose weight as it will effect our health... Take their word for it and just keep on doing more of the same until they tell you to stop. Eventually your brain will catch up...

People do misjudge their own size at times... That is how anorexics end up being convinced that they need to lose weight when they are already so slim it is unhealthy... Believe the scales and trust your doctor. You will know how much you have taken in your clothes... Why not get someone to help you take measurements too... The extra evidence might help your brain catch up with all the changes...

I'll bet your doctor is thrilled with your progress...
